1 Intelligent Sprinkler Control System Benefits Of Intelligent Sprinkler Control System: The intelligent sprinkler control system is a system designed and developed to reduce the amount of irrigation water used and to achieve smart and intelligent control in agriculture. The intelligent sprinkler control system is controlled using programmem, such as their complex wiring, low reliability, high power consumption, and low versatility, while also solving the issues of a computer control system such as its environmental and high costs. 1

2 Programmable controllers make use of the programmability of microprocessors. It does not require specialized knowledge of programming language, but rather uses a simple method of instruction based on a set of relay ladder diagrams, so that the programming experience is visual, intuitive and easy to learn. Both toning and error-correction are convenient. After purchasing the required programmable controller, users can follow the instructions on the manual, and with a small amount of wiring work and simple programming, they can flexibly and conveniently apply the programmable controller to their crop production. In order to minimize the irrigation water used and to achieve intelligent control, the intelligent sprinkler control system has the following functions: 1.Data Acquisition Function The system can receive analog data acquired by soil moisture sensors. It processes analog signals by converting the analog signal into a digital signal (A/D conversion) 2.Control Functions The system features timing control and cycle control functions. Users can choose the appropriate control method according to their needs: 1)Automatic control function: The programmable controller compares the soil moisture data measured by the sensors with the preset standard moisture range. If the detected moisture values are lower than the preset moisture 2

3 values, the control system will automatically adjust the motor speed and begin irrigating the crops. (if the detected values are lower than the preset values, the motor speed will be increased; if the detected values are higher than the preset values, the motor speed will be decreased) 2)Timing control function: The control system can set up a schedule to turn the solenoid valve on and off. During irrigation, when the soil moisture values reach the preset moisture values, the motor will automatically stop the irrigation process 3)Cycle control function: Users can program control procedures within the programmable controller by setting the start time, end time, irrigation duration and stop time of each cycle. The sprinkler control system will then automatically irrigate the crops according to the programmed time. 3.Variable Speed Function When comparing the measured soil moisture values with the preset values of 50%-60% RH (values most suitable for lawn growth), there can be three results higher than, equal to, and lower than. These results can be interpreted as the three soil moisture levels: low, medium, and high. These three levels will be represented by a corresponding indicator light, indicating low, medium, and high soil moisture levels. The inverter will automatically adjust the speed of the motor according to the soil moisture level. The motor has three rotation speeds: high, medium, and low speed that correspond to the three indicator lights: high, medium, and low. 3

4 4.Automatic Stop Function The control system automatically activates the sprinklers according to the soil moisture content, and controls the motor to rotate at the required speed, nozzle spraying for 5 minutes, stopping for 2 minutes, spraying for another 5 minutes, and stopping automatically. 5.Motor Overload Protection Function When the motor is overloaded, it will stop immediately, ending any irrigation process, and flashing the fault indicator light. When the motor is no longer overloaded, it will resume its operation. 6.Stopping on Rainy Days Using the humidity sensor switch as an input signal of the programmable controller to achieve control over related procedures. 7.Power Saving Function The Timing controller will continue to keep time even when the sprinkler system is switched off, therefore it is used as the power control for the programmable controller. With the timing of the irrigation control, the timer is connected to the 4

5 power supply of the programmable controller. The programmable controller will turn on the power supply for each control device according to its program design, and adjust the execution of the program at any time according to the change in the input signal. Outside of system operating hours, the timer will automatically cut off the power supply of the programmable controller, this will reduce the power consumption of the system, while extending the service life of the device. 8. Emergency Stop Function In the event of an emergency, please press the emergency stop button. The motor will stop immediately, the valves will close, and the nozzles will stop spraying. 9. Automatic Fault Detection Function If the irrigation system suffers a malfunction such as a water pipe rupture (water pressure is zero), sensor failure, inverter failure, or a solenoid valve failure, the pump will immediately stop operating, the solenoid valves will close, and the fault indicator light will flash, accompanied by an alarm. The operator can press the mute button to stop the alarm, but the fault indicator light will remain flashing until the malfunction has been resolved. When it has, the fault indicator light will stop flashing automatically. 5
