15 E-900 Electric Guns Description E-900 electric guns are high-speed, all-electric guns designed for the precision placement of hot melt adhesive. Each adhesive bead is deposited precisely and independently through the electric dispensing modules (valves) positioned on the gun manifold. The manifold supplies adhesive to all the modules from a single hose. Each module is an electric solenoid valve with a spring-loaded armature inside the adhesive chamber. The module stroke can be adjusted to optimize performance and to balance the adhesive flow among modules. The module coils are either AC-powered or operated via an electric gun driver. All module mounting locations on the manifold are electrically active, but each may be blocked off if a module is not needed. The gun temperature is controlled by a resistance temperature detector (RTD) or by a fixed-temperature thermoswitch. Overtemperature protection is provided as follows: RTD guns 246 C (475 F) overtemperature thermoswitch Fixed-temperature thermoswitch guns 240 C (464 F) thermal fuse E-900 guns are available in standard entry, top entry, and low profile configurations and may have one to four modules in a variety of spacings. The guns may have two independently wired coil sets, allowing modules to be fired on different timing signals, or three or four independently wired coil sets, allowing modules to be fired on three or four different timing signals. E-900 guns are also available in a water-resistant design, which uses a special cable and connector assembly to seal against moisture.
