1 DESCRIPTION is a polysulfide based, chemical resistant two-component coating material for the systems MasterProtect 7800 and. FIELD OF APPLICATION is used as the impervious coating on MasterProtect 1860 fleece in plants for the storage, filling and handling of potentially water-polluting substances and for repairs of the MasterProtect 7800 and systems. FEATURES AND BENEFITS Highly elastic Chloroparaffin-free formulation within the coating system, resistant to a wide variety of substances (see chemical resistance list). 2 Colours to control correct coating process: 1 st coat with MasterProtect 1880 grey, 2 nd coat with MasterProtect 1870 red, 3 rd coat with MasterProtect 1880 grey (System MasterProtect 7800) or MasterProtect 1881 AS (conductive system MasterProtect ) Easy to apply with roller, trowel or brush APPLICATION METHOD (a) Surface Preparation is applied to the MasterProtect 1860 fleece. At the time of application, the fleece must be dry and free from dust, oil and grease. Before the material is applied, the temperature of the surface must be at least 3 K above the current dew point temperature. (b) Mixing MasterProtect 1870 (red) and MasterProtect 1880 (grey) are supplied with Parts A and B as two separate components in the correct mixing ratio.

2 First, pour the entire Part B into the container of Part A. Ensure that the entire Part B has been removed from the can, scrape out if necessary. To ensure intensive mixing and achieve a homogeneous consistency, the two components must be mixed thoroughly with a slow stirrer at about 300 rpm. The material at the bottom and edges of the container must also be mixed. Mixing must continue until a homogenous, streak free consistency is reached. The components must be mixed for at least three minutes. The temperature of the two components during mixing should be between 10 and 25 C. (c) Application After installation and fixing of the MasterProtect 1860 fleece and a minimum waiting period of 4 h (at 23 C), coating with MasterProtect 1880 grey can be started. For the first coat MasterProtect 1880 grey is applied using a roller (pile height 14 mm) or smoothing trowel. Minimum consumption is 1.0 l / m² in order to close and saturate the fleece surface structure. After a waiting period of minimum 12 h (at 23 C) the second coat is applied using MasterProtect 1870 red. Application by roller (pile height 14 mm) or trowel with a minimum consumption of 0.9 l / m². The final third coating is applied after a further waiting period of minimum 12 h (at 23 C): for system MasterProtect 7800 another layer of MasterProtect 1880 grey is applied by roller (pile height 14 mm) or trowel with a minimum consumption of 0.9 l / m². Apart from the ambient temperature, the temperature of the surface to be coated is very important for the application of polysulfide coatings. At lower temperatures, chemical reactions are slower and the application, recoating and walkover times will be longer. At higher temperatures, reactions are faster and the processing, recoating and walk-over times will be reduced. For full curing of, the average temperature of the surface coated must not be below the specified minimum application or surface temperature. After application, the material has to be protected against direct exposure to water for about 24 hours (at 23 C). CLEANING OF TOOLS Tools can be cleaned with a solvent cleaner e.g. Master- Seal 917 CLN. SHELF LIFE 18 months (Part A) respectively 9 months (Part B) in unopened original containers, if stored at above mentioned storage conditions. EU DIRECTIVE 2004/42 (DECOPAINT GUIDE- LINE) VOC-content of according to EU-Directive 2004/42/IIA(j)(550/500): < 45 g/l.

3 HANDLING AND TRANSPORT Usual preventive measures for the handling of chemical products should be observed when using this product, for example do not eat, smoke or drink while working and wash hands when taking a break or when the job is completed. Disposal of product and its container should be carried out according to the local legislation in force. Responsibility for this lies with the final owner of the product. WATCH POINTS MasterProtect 1870 and 1880 are only for industrial use. Do not add water, alcohol, solvents or similar to Master- Protect 1870 / 1880!
