3 Threads Connectors of series 1-3 are produced with both outer thread and inner thread. All of our threads, meaning the entire line of threaded items including sealing collars, are guaranteed to be produced with no seams. The thread lengths of male threads meet the requirements of the applicable standard (tolerances of thread standards are designed for metal threads and cannot be applied to plastic threads). If requested, the sealing collar for cylindrical threads can also be fitted with an O-ring. Special reference must be made to this detail in the order. Cylindrical thread: G, M or UNF One reliable way to install a connection optimally is to limit tightening by a defined stop. Our G, M and UNF threads provide this option. Sealing is ensured by the sealing collar. Conical thread: NPT The seal of the NPT thread is provided in the thread itself rather than by a sealing collar. Connection with no dead volume To exclude undesirable dead volume, EM-TECHNIK has developed a type of connector with cylindrical G thread that is not sealed by either a sealing collar or the thread. The seal is ensured by a cone (external cone). As a precondition, the internal thread must have the same cone (internal cone). Caution: As a general rule, only matching thread types should be connected together. If you are using a male connector with an external G thread, the mating part should always have an internal G thread. However, if a conical external thread is screwed into a cylindrical internal thread (as shown in the drawing) the two threads, which do not match, will be damaged when they are screwed together. After the connection is loosened, it can no longer be used again because no friction locked connection can be created and accordingly no seal is possible.

5 Certificates ATEX A potential source of ignition is produced by the inherent function or by external effects, both can be ignored with fittings from emtechnik. To produce a sufficient amount of charge to form a source of ignition, a minimum speed of 1m/sec is required. This speed is not reached with our fittings. A further potential source of ignition is the production of a charge due to external effects such as friction or media transport. However, this effect cannot arise with the cross-sections available. To generate a sufficient amount of charge from the exterior to form a source of ignition, the surface for category II2 GD IIB must be larger than 100qcm, or the surface must be open to contact over a large area, this situation is also not the case on our fittings. Directive 97/23 EC, pressure equipment Our products are not categorised in accordance with article 3/para.3 of the above mentioned directive and are not approved via the limits stated in the directive. Directive 2002/95/EC RoHS The raw materials we use do not contain lead, cadmium, chromium VI, mercury or the flame retardant PBB or PDBE and such materials are also not used anywhere in the production process.

6 S Technical Notes on Flexible Tubes Pressure Load Temperature The diagram will assist in ascertaining the recommended working pressure (approx x short-term burst pressure) for PTFE flexible tubes. For operating temperatures above +20 C the pressures stated in the diagramm are to be multiplied with the corresponding reduction factor from the table. In case of operating temperatures below +20 C no reduction factors are required.
