2 What is L Étape? In 1993, Tour de France opened a mountainous stage of the famous race to amateur riders. They called this unique experience L Étape du Tour or a stage of the tour in French. The idea was to allow enthusiasts to experience firsthand the heartache and triumphs of riding under the same condibons as professionals compebng in the Tour de France. This year for only the second Bme ever - cyclists from across Australia will be able to take part in this internabonally famous event when L Étape comes to the beaubful Snowy Mountains region of New South Wales. L Étape Australia will replicate the French experience and allow amateur riders to experience compebng in the Tour de France with fully closed roads right here in NSW! L Étape Australia will provide a new dimension to the Australian cycle calendar; replicabng L Étape du Tour in format, look and feel and proving a weekend in which riders and supporters can immerse themselves in the heady atmosphere of the Tour de France.

3 What is L Étape? As part of L Étape Australia, riders have TWO OPTIONS: the 157 km RACE or the 126km RIDE. Both the Race and the Ride promise to push cyclists to their limits. THE RIDE is for those who wish to immerse themselves in the atmosphere and experience of L Étape without the added pressure of the final Col de Kosciuszko climb. At 126 km and a peak of 1,300m the Ride is sbll a significant challenge. 1 TOUR DE CURE ON COURSE SUPPORT STATION THE RACE covers 157 km which includes the difficult Col de Beloka and finishes with the demanding Col de Kosciuszko final climb, taking the route to a peak of 1,735m. 2 TOUR DE CURE ON COURSE SUPPORT STATION

Tour de Cure is proud to be the official charity partner of L Étape Australia However you choose to be part of the big event in December, there are mulbple ways you can join in the fun with a great group of Tour de Cure people Sign up to TDC Club L Étape to take part in either The Ride or The Race. Raise a minimum of $500 as part of the Tour de Cure community & receive TDC Club L Étape benefits. Register to fundraise Make your ride ma`er by fundraising for us. Registered fundraisers receive TDC support and TDC community benefits Volunteer and support our incredible riders as they take on the challenge

5 Where the Money Goes As the official charity partner of L Étape Australia 2017, Tour de Cure will be using this fantasbc opportunity to raise significant funds and awareness to help cure cancer. Since 2007, Tour de Cure has raised over $30million, funded 266 vital Cancer research, support and prevenpon projects leading to 21 breakthroughs. Cancer does not discriminate, as we unfortunately know all too well. Our mission is simple to CURE CANCER. Research 67% Prevention 12% Support 20% 1 IN 3 cancer cases can be prevented so Tour de Cure not only raises money to find a cure but also to increase community awareness. More kids, adults and communibes need to know that they can reduce their risk of gecng cancer by making healthy lifestyle choices. Tour de Cure raises awareness by sharing our BE FIT; BE HEALTHY; BE HAPPY cancer message and educabon packs with over 90,000 school children across Australia.
