3 FUNCTION OF PLASTICOLOR DOSING UNITS The PLASTICOLOR neckpiece (2) is mounted between the production machine (1) and the main hopper (5). 8 THE ADVANTAGES OF THE PLASTICOLOR DOSING UNITS IS TO BE SEEN IN THE PRACTICAL DETAILS PLASTICOLOR QUICK ACTING LATCHES The PLASTICOLOR dosing units can be cleaned very easily thanks to the Quick acting latches. Changing the screws is quick and easy. The pressure bolts ensure a good seal and prevent back pressure on the motor and gears. ROUND MATERIAL INLET The combination of round stainless steel hoppers, round material inlet and round quick discharge ensures a material flow/ cleaning with almost no residue. - = Standard = Optional 8 PLASTICOLOR-Dosing units

10 PLASTICOLOR QUICK DISCHARGE with manual slide Very easy discharge of the PLASTI- COLOR dosing units and hoppers thanks to the quick discharge. This allows an quick and troublefree change of colour and change of screw/ cylinder assembly. QUICK DISCHARGE pneumatic The pneumatic quick discharge can be remotely operated, for example for PLASTICOLOR dosing units that are mounted on a platform/gantry or in a high position. NECKPIECE SLIDE Taking a sample via the neckpiece slide. Neckpiece slides secure the units against the neckpiece and make it possible to take samples and conduct volume tests. 11 PLASTICOLOR NECKPIECE SLIDE pneumatic The pneumatic neckpiece slide facilitates remote opening and closing and thus taking samples remotely. - QUICK DISCHARGE and NECKPIECE SLIDE connecting a hose Using a hose for quick discharge or connecting a hose for taking samples is a practical option for all PLASTICOLOR dosing units that are mounted in a high or inaccessible position. 12 PLASTICOLOR TEST OPENING in the middle of the housing for taking samples Tests for volume control can be done during production via the test slide AUTOMATIC SCREW IDENTIFICATION The combination of a PPM Control, a coded screw coupling and a sensor in the pressure bolt allows a fully automatic screw identification of the screw mounted in the dosing unit. HOPPER SLIDE A hopper slide is being used when changing the screw/cylinder without emptying the hopper. 13 PLASTICOLOR SENSORS Sensors are used for level control in the hopper and the neckpiece. When processing small amounts of additive or changing materials very frequently, it is helpful to install an adapter for a sensor over the dosing screw. - HIGH CAPACITY INSERT / DEFLECTOR PLATE High capacity inserts for non-pressurised dosing into the main material stream flowing through the neckpiece.
