3 a three-cylinder, 9.9 kw Kubota D722 engine. Two types of arms are available for this machine: standard and long. Offered as an optional extra, the long arm further increases digging depth and unloading height. The E16 mini excavator we recently photographed for this Machine Focus at the Doosan Infracore CE plant in Dobris, Czech Republic is the Limited Edition version with canopy and 1615 kg of operating weight. The version with heated cab fitted with standard arm is also available. Its operating weight is 1744 kg, and it offers a maximum digging depth of 2422 mm (but when fitted with the long arm this mini excavator reaches a maximum digging depth of 2602 mm). We mentioned the cab: it is particularly roomy, has a large door that makes access easier, a low noise level and a comfortable work environment. The most important innovations found inside are the new user-friendly pedals and shifting levers, which have already been very successfully used on the heavier Bobcat E26 mini excavator. The cab also features a new easy-toclean mat bearing the Bobcat trademark, new upholstery and a storage compartment underneath the seat. Optional factoryinstalled equipment comprises the Heavy Duty Bobcat radio (for the cab versions); four tie downs that can be added to couple and secure the machine to the trailer; the blade extensions, also available fitted with rubber bearing that protect the asphalt when the blade is pushed to the ground (the right and left components can be exchanged so as to position the rubber bearings on top when their use is not required); suspended seat; an auxiliary hydraulic line on the arm (the auxiliary hydraulic lines and their couplers can now be installed on the boom). Lifting and moving? No problem! Lifting and moving heavy loads is not a problem when you can depend on the lifting capacity of the E16 mini excavator, a good 350 kg. In fact, this version offers high breakout forces and a smoothly operating, jerkfree hydraulic system that ensures precise movements. Like the E14 version, the Bobcat E16 miniexcavator has hydraulic cylinders above the boom. This positioning reduces vulnerability when working in cramped spaces and/or when using the machine with accessories. The increased diameter of the cylinders then augments the breakout force and lifting capacity of the machine. The auxiliary hydraulic lines and hoses of the work assembly are canalized inside the arm and boom so as to ensure their optimum protection and to improve overall visibility. The accessories, which comprise a wide and varied range in trenching bucket, grading bucket, hydraulic breaker, auger and hydraulic clamp measurements, are simple to install. The 6-mm thick steel rear door guarantees a high degree of rigidity, protects the rear of the excavator and makes accessing the service points easier so daily maintenance is simpler and machine downtimes are shorter. This is an important feature for those demanding applications in the rental, demolition and construction sector. Other features that contribute to the long life of the E16 mini excavator (and its "little brother", the E14) are the steel side panels, the blade cylinder in a protected position and use of a three-roller rolling train that extends the life of the rubber tracks whose width is 230 mm (200 mm in the E14 version). These tracks, supplied standard, can be replaced with optional steel tracks. INFO

Then when it is completely extended it supplies top stability, particularly along the sides. Extension and retraction are simple and quick, and are commanded by an electric switch located on the control panel 3-4. in addition to use on the front, the long dozer blade significantly improves forward excavator stability, allowing the operator to fully use the breakout forces that the machine is able to supply 5.
