4 STOCK & HOT ROD ATV RULES 1. NO ALCOHOL is allowed on the track during a pull, violators including drivers and pit crew, will be disqualified. 2. ATV must have a secure hitch that is stationary in all direction with a maximum hitch height of 12 inches and a 1 inch minimum hole in hitch. This hitch may not extend more than 12 inches from the center of the rear axle. 3. Hot Rod ATV must use only two driving wheels. No duals are allowed. 4. ATV must use only rubber tires. No chains or studs are allowed. 5. ATV must have working brakes, fenders over the two rear tires and a spring return throttle (lever or twist grip). 6. No ATV can be entered in more than three classes. Points stay with the ATV. 7. All drivers must be at least 16 years of age or have written consent from a parent or guardian. All drivers in Hot Rod class must be 16 years of age or older. 8. All ATV s must be operating in a safe manner on and off the track. No speeding or wheelies are allowed. 9. All drivers must wear a shirt, pants, boots and a helmet during the pull. 10. All ATV s except showroom stock, must have a wheelie bar, and the wheelie bar must keep their front tires from lifting more than 18 inches off the ground. 11. The first puller is the test puller in each class. They have the option to turn down their first pull and re-pull in 3 rd or last position. Driver must decide BEFORE leaving the track. 12. All pulls will start with a tight hitch. No jerking of the chain is allowed. 13. The puller will be given two consecutive attempts to start the sled within 40 feet. 14. If the puller goes out of bounds during the pull, you are done (unless you are the first puller). 15. DO NOT leave the track until you are told they have your measurement. 16. The loss of any object, such as a weight, while hooked to the sled will be a disqualification. This will be green flag to red flag. 17. PROTESTING: The fee for protesting will be $ for Stock and Modified classes, and $ for Hot Rod classes. The protester must be participating in the same class against the one he/she is protesting. If a protest is brought up, all pulls will continue. The ATV being protested will be impounded until torn down that night. The owner or his agent will tear down after all pulls are done. An official has to be present when a tear down is being done. If the ATV is found illegal, the owner and/or drivers will be banned from the association for one year, and the protest fee is returned to the protester. If the ATV is found legal, the owner and/or drivers will be given the protest fee. The official s decision shall be final. 18. The standard outdoor track shall be 200 feet long and 20 feet wide. Spectators should be kept feet away from the track. Page 3

5 19. Pulling class will be grouped into respective classes as follows: Showroom Stock: Is Stock, no gear, no pipe and only stock tires. Modified: Production ATV frames and engines only. Gear changes, tires, pipe(s) and engine modifications are allowed. Maximum wheelbase is 60 inches. Kill switch on all modifieds. The maximum allowable tire size is 26x12x12. Hot Rod: Frames may be production or fabricated, but Wheelbase may not exceed 60 inches. Engines must be ATV, Motorcycle or snowmobile and modifications are allowed. A second safety chain must be mounted below the axle and separate from the pulling hitch. The ATV must have a working engine safety kill switch that will connect to the sled. The maximum tire size is 26x12x If ATV has been entered and scratched, a refund of the entry fee may be allowed only if mechanical problems existing before the pull cannot be fixed before the pull. The official s decision on such a matter is final. 21. All entries are stopped once that class has started and hooked to the sled. 22. Only race gas or alcohol is permitted for use as fuel. Neither nitrous oxide nor pressured fuels are allowed. Page 4

6 STOCK AND MODIFIED GARDEN TRACTOR PULLERS RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Entry fee is $15.00 for members and $20.00 for non-members for each class you plan to run in. Please sign up as soon as you arrive. Registration will close 15 minutes prior to pull start time. At that time, numbers will be drawn at random to determine pulling order. 2. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES to be consumed by driver, flagman, sled operator, announcer, scale operator or measuring crew while on the track or performing their duties. 3. The only class jumping allowed will be up in the next appropriate class (ex: 10 Mod stock to 14 mod stock). Only one jump is allowed per tractor. An additional $15.00 or $20.00 is required for each class the tractor is pulling in. Tractors may enter only once per class (no double drivers). 4. All drivers of stock garden tractors must be at least 5 years of age and be able to handle their tractor at all times. Drivers of modified stock, open and 4 cylinder class tractors must be a minimum of 16 years of age. Any driver under 16 who wishes to pull anything bigger then stock must apply to the Board of Directors for an annual competition license. Applications are to be made one week prior to event and will require demonstration of their ability. 5. The Board of Directors has the right to disqualify anyone they feel that has had too much to drink or is operating a tractor in an unsafe or reckless manner. Any unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. The offender will be disqualified with no refund of entry money. In the event of unsportsmanlike conduct a written warning will be issued (1 st offense). If a second offense occurs within the same year, suspension for a period of time deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors or loss of membership may occur. The Board of Directors also has the authority to terminate a pull due to extenuating or hazardous conditions. 6. A capable person must attend to the tractor at all times when the engine is running. Tractor speeds around the track and pit area are not to exceed 5 mph. Helmets are required. Long pants must be worn by all drivers in all classes. Although not required, long shirts are also recommended. It is further recommended that all tractors have a dead man throttle and a kill switch. (These are required in some classes, but fully recommended in all classes). 7. Any tractor over stock cannot be driven in pit-area. Can be driven on and off track only. 8. No riders on tractors. 9. All tractors must weigh in prior to pulling. No changing of any weights or drivers is allowed after weigh in. You can be called back to the scale for reweighing. 10. The flagman is on the track for safety reasons. Tractor operators are to watch the flagman in front of them. A red flag means stop immediately. The flagman is to be 16 years of age or older and a member of the club. All tractors will be hooked to the sled Page 5

7 and if breakage occurs, no refund of the entry fee will be made for the class. No jerking of the chain at the starting line. All pullers must pull within 3 minutes of sled readiness or drop to the end of the class. Loss of anything, such as a weight on the track during a pull (green flag to red flag) will mean disqualification from the class. Test puller is exempt and may come back in 3 rd or last position. All weights must remain fully secured. All drivers must not leave their seats during the pull. All drivers must have at least one hand on the steering wheel at all times. A pull will be considered over when the forward motion of the sled stops and the flagman gives you the red flag, at which time the measurement is taken. The flagman s decision of the forward motion of the sled cannot be protested. Any part of the tractor, other than a weight boom going out of bounds is cause for disqualification. If any tire breaks the plane of the boundary, the tractor is considered out of bounds. 11. People assigned to the scale, sled operator, measuring crew and flagman must stay with that position for the entire class. Sled operator has the option to restart the class and reweigh the sled or lengthen or shorten the chain after the first two tractors. 12. The first puller is the test puller in each class. He/She has the option to re-pull in 3 rd or last spot, however, he/she will be giving up their first pull in doing so. Decision to re-pull must be made before the tractor leaves the track. 13. If anyone starts in the wrong gear or breaks and stops prior to the 40 foot mark may attempt again, but only once. 25 Stock and all Modified classes have 75 ft. 14. BRAKES: All tractors must have working rear wheel brakes or drive shaft brakes. 15. DRAWBAR: Rigid in all directions, 1 ½ minimum hole, 13 maximum height from the ground, unless specified differently in individual classes. 16. HITCHES: Are to be measured at the hook point with the driver on the seat. No ball hitches or clevises. Drawbar must have easy access. Cannot be any higher than SEATS: Must have a minimum 3 back. Seat back must be rigid enough not to flex down excessively when leaned on. 18. FRONT ENDS: All classes must have wide front ends with two wheels which track within the rear wheels. 19. TIRES: All classes may run up to 26x12x12, no larger, no duals and no chains or recaps. 20. WHEELIE BARS: Cannot be less than 5 behind the rear tires and not any higher than 5 from the ground. Pads must be a minimum of 3 square and wheels must be a minimum of 1 wide (no plastic hubs). Wheelie bars must be able to support the weight of the tractor and driver ready to pull. There will be a one week grace period for all new pullers to make required changes. 21. FENDERS: All tractors must have rear fenders to keep drivers away from the tires. Driver s seat must be forward of rear tires. 22. EXHAUST: Unless stock, O.E.M. exhaust must be vertical up, with no more than 30 degrees variance, or straight back not down or out toward the crowd. 8 23. FUEL: Stock will run gasoline (racing fuel ok) or diesel. Mod-Stock, Open, and 4 cylinder classes may run alcohol or gasoline. Electric fuel pumps allowed in all classes. No nitrous oxide, turbo, or superchargers in any class. No pressurized fuel tanks allowed. NO Nitro Methane. 24. CHASSIS: No aluminum frames in tractor classes. (4 cylinder ok). Page 7

9 STOCK GARDEN TRACTORS 1. ENGINE: a. Stock block, Garden tractor block (no aftermarket) b. Stock stroke crank for that engine size (steel crank ok) c. Stock rod length for that engine (billet ok) d. Allowed over (can use aftermarket piston) e. No porting, polishing or balancing f. Must have stock OEM head (no recast or billet heads). Shaving is permitted (No welding on head) g. Factory release. Carb cannot be altered, bored or rejetted. Fuel injection is allowed if motor came from the factory with it. h. Cam must be stock cam with a max lift (reground cams are permitted as long as they meet lift rule, and are stock cast cam). i. After market pistons, rods, cranks, valve springs, valves and lifters are permitted as long as they are stock specs (ex: billet rod steel crank) j. Valves must be stock size for that motor, must be stock length, and in stock location. No offset valve guides. k. Stock tractor should run stock style ignition. Points run Points. If motor came with points, IT must run points. 2. FLY WHEELS: a. Can be cast or steel. 3. RPMS: a. All stock tractors are 4,000 RPM, no engine load (NO VARIANCE) b. Spot checks and protest checks will be performed by club officials, with club tach, or club approved tach. c. RPM checks will be unannounced. Failing this test will result in loss of points and rewards for the day. d. Must provide easy access for RPM checks. 4. FUEL: a. Stock Classes can run gas or race fuel only (E-85, E-25, etc). NO ALCOHOL. 5. FRAMES: a. Stock garden frames only b. May be modified for engine replacement, rear end, wheelie bars hitch mounting, exhaust, tires, hood and fenders. c. 56 wheel base from center of rear axle to center of front axle. d. No aluminum frames. Page 8

10 6. REAR END AND TRANSMISSION: a. Must be commercial lawn and garden type. b. No locked rear ends. c. Can change internals (ex: gears, shafts, axles) d. Can change belts, pulleys, etc 7. WEIGHT BOOM: a. No portion of weights or brackets may protrude forward more than 96 from center of rear axle to the furthest point forward. 8. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: TRACTOR: a. Must have kill switch must kill ignition and fuel pump. b. If under the age of 16 and not using a dead man throttle, must have a kill tether hooked to the driver so if driver falls off tractor, it kills the tractor immediately. c. Must have enclosed clutches and fly wheels. d. All belts, chains, pulley, etc must be shielded from spectators. e. Factory shields or 1/16 steel or ¼ aluminum. DRIVER: a. Must wear helmet and be strapped. b. Long pants (NO SHORTS) c. Must wear closed toe boots or shoes (No part of your feet showing NO Sandals, flip flops, etc) d. Must be 5 years old and pass boards drivers test. Page 9

11 STOCK 25 HP TWIN 1. All general and safety rules apply. 2. The maximum RPM is Maximum of 25 HP rating. Must use factory stock carb for engine. Must use OEM non-altered parts within the engine, excluding exhaust header. Ignition timing may be advanced. 4. Heads must retain factory gasket lip. 5. Must use factory stock sheet metal and retain factory appearance. Sheet metal can be changed for brand to brand (John Deere on Cub frame) but frame cannot be altered. 6. Front axle can be factory or tube type; can be moved forward as long as it is within the factory frame. 7. Frame can be modified for engine swap. 8. Gears can be changed in transmission inch wheelbase 96 from center of rear axle to the furthest point forward. 10. Flathead engines must run 4000 RPM unless a steel flywheel is used. A lesser HP command motor may run in this class at Must run gasoline only. No methanol or alcohol. Page 10

12 10 HP MODIFIED GARDEN TRACTOR Classes: 10hp. Modified Single Cylinder Unlimited RPM. Can run gasoline or alcohol. All General Rules Apply 1. ENGINE: a. Stock block garden tractor type. b. Stock stroke cranks for that engine, any rod length, any valve size. c. Allowed over bore. d. Porting, polishing and balancing allowed. e. Any head allowed. f. Stock appearing carb only max of 1.20 (can be recast, just has to be stock appearing). 2. RPMS: a. Unlimited, but MUST RUN STEEL FLY WHEEL 3. FRAMES: a. Stock frames or copies no tube frames. b. May be modified for engine, wheelie bars, hitch mounting, exhaust pipe, tire, weight brackets, hood and fenders. c. 56 wheel base from center of rear axle to center of front axle. d. No aluminum frames. 4. REAR END AND TRANSMISSION: a. Must be commercial lawn and garden type. b. Rear end can be locked. c. Can change gears, pulleys, etc 5. WEIGHT BOOM: a. No portion of weights or brackets may protrude forward more than 96 from center of rear axle to furthest point forward. 6. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: a. Must have kill switch- must kill ignition and fuel pump. b. Must have enclosed clutches and fly wheels using 1/8 steel or ¼ aluminum. c. All belts and chains must be shielded front, top and sides using 1/16 steel or 1/8 aluminum. d. Cylinder heads must be strapped. e. Side plates for the length of the block. f. Must wear helmet. g. Must wear fire jacket. If running alcohol must wear fire jacket, fire pants and leather boots. h. Dead man throttle required. i. 2 ½ lb fire extinguisher with gauge. Page 11

13 60 OVER/38.5 TWIN: 1050 Stock 25 hp tractors can run this class using their rules at 1100 lbs. All General Rules Apply 1. ENGINE: a. Stock appearing garden tractor type engine. b. Stock stoke. c. Any rod length. d. Porting and polishing allowed. e. Stock head bolt pattern, Twins must have stock heads in any factory location, no external welding. f. Any cast or steel cam allowed, NO ROLLER CAMS IN TWINS. g. Stock appearing carb 1.20 max. h. Twins must run a factory intake manifold and can have an adapter to run a 1.20 carb. 2. RPM AND FLY WHEELS: a. Unlimited RPM b. Must have a Steel flywheel 3. FRAMES: a. 56 wheelbase max. b. Max width of 60. c. No aluminum frames. d. Must have hood grill and fenders. 4. REAR END AND TRANSMISSION: a. Must be a commercial lawn and garden type. b. Can be locked. c. Can change gears. 5. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: a. Must have kill switch to kill ignition and fuel pumps. b. Clutches and flywheels must be enclosed using minimum 1/8 steel or ¼ aluminum. All belts and chains must be shielded using 1/16 steel or 1/8 aluminum. c. Cylinder heads must be strapped on singles, twins must be shielded. d. Side plates must run the length of the block. e. Helmet required. f. Must wear fire jacket if running gas. If running alcohol, must wear fire jacket, fire pants and leather boots. g. Dead man throttle required. h. 2 ½ lb fire extinguisher with gauge. Page 12

14 OPEN SUPER 1050 LBS Twins 1025 lbs, 12 ½ hitch 1. All General and Safety Rules apply for this and the Diesel Open Super 1050 lbs. 2. No RPM limit for this class. No cast flywheels. 3. Maximum of two cylinders (can be two singles) 54 cubic inch OHV or OHC, 70 cubic Inch flathead, Max of 4 valves total. 4. Must be OEM engine or its copy (Julian block, Jones or Woolam). 5. Any type of Natural Aspirated induction permitted. 6. Must use factory stock sheet metal, frame and retain factory appearance, tube frames Permitted according to NQS rules. 7. Maximum wheelbase of Must run factory transmission. 9. Methanol, Diesel or Gas. No additives. 10. Maximum length 8 foot from center of rear to farthest point forward. 11. Must have grill and hood. 15 OPEN SUPER 1050 LBS DIESEL RULES Factory 3 Cylinder air or liquid cooled diesels (no cut down 4 cylinder engines) cubic in max. 2. Water injection permitted, water or water soluble oil mixture only. 3. Stock head for engine make and model, no external welding except for repair. 4. No overhead cam engines. 5. Stock OEM intake and exhaust manifold, porting and polishing allowed, no tube manifolds. 6. Engine block model and serial numbers must be visible. 7. Stock or Component frame with stock appearing garden, compact, or farm tractor sheet metal with full engine shields (side shields must be a minimum of 1/16 steel or aluminum). Tube chassis must be covered with sheet metal. 8. No billet fuel injector pumps or electronic fuel injection. 9. Limited to 1 turbo, no size restriction. 10. No intercoolers or ice boxes. 11. Kill switch must shut off electric fuel pump and shut air off on the compressor side of the turbo. 12. Exhaust L of turbo must have minimum of 5/16 cross in elbow with exhaust to discharge vertically. 13. NO PROPANE OR NITROUS OF ANY KIND. 14. Must run ¼ cable around oil pan over top of valve cover in between #1 and #2 cylinder in a complete circle connected to cable clamps (minimum of two clamps). 15. Steel flywheel required with flywheel inspection hole in bell housing. 16. Flywheel, front cast pulleys and clutch must be shielded 360 degrees with 1/8 steel or 3/16 aluminum. SFI approved blanket also acceptable. Page 14

16 HEAVY SUPER MOD All General Rules apply. 2. ENGINE: a. Must be motorcycle or snowmobile b. 2-Cycle engines 820cc to 900 cc limited to a 12.5 hitch height. c. 4-Cycle engines 1500cc, limited to a 12 hitch height. d. 2-Cycle engines 901cc to 1000cc limited to a 12 hitch height. 3. CHASSIS: a. Minimum length 6 maximum of 8 length from centerline of rear axle to furthest point forward. b. Maximum width is 5, MUST have fenders and they must extend horizontally over tire 4 from vertical of inside of tire to keep driver away from the tires. c. Must have strong seat with 3 from center or rear axle. 4. Maximum 1 barrel carburation per cylinder, gas or alcohol is allowed, factory fuel injection. 5. Must be equipped with working kill switch (engine and electric fuel pump). 6. Exhaust must be pointed vertical up more the 30 degrees variance. 7. Unit may run a locked up rear end. 8. The Board of Directors must approve custom built tractors prior to pulling. 9. Hitch must be no closer than 6 from hook point to center of rear axle and may not extend farther than 30 from center of rear axle. 10. Must have a dead man throttle and kill switch. 11. A 2 ½ lb fire extinguisher within reach of the driver. 12. Driver must wear a full face helmet with face shield, fire suit and leather boots. 13. CC limits will be calculated with a 2% allowance. 14. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: a. Must have enclosed clutches, flywheels, jack shafts, chains and drive shaft mounted disc brakes enclosed 360 degrees using 1/8 steel hoop. b. Side plates the length of the crankshaft. c. Tractors with automatic transmissions must have a legal scatter blanket or 1/8 steel or ¼ aluminum around them from the back of the block to the tail shaft housing. d. Snowmobile clutches and belts must be totally enclosed with minimum 1/8 steel. Page 15

17 LITE SUPER MOD All General Rules apply. 2. ENGINE: a. Snowmobile or motorcycle, 550cc 2-cycle or 800cc 4-cycle. b. Any tractor class can run in this class under their rules. 3. Max 1 barrel carburation per cylinder. Gas or alcohol is allowed, factory fuel injection is allowed. 4. Engines must be naturally aspirated. 5. Must be equipped with working kill switch (engine and electric fuel pump). 6. Exhaust must be pointed vertical up more the 30 degrees variance. 7. Unit may run a locked rear end. 8. The Board of Directors must approve custom built tractors prior to pulling. 9. Hitch must be no closer than 6 from hook point to center of rear axle and may not extend farther than 30 from center of rear axle. 10. CHASSIS: Minimum length 6 maximum of 8 length from centerline of rear axle to furthest point forward. Maximum width is 5 and must have fenders. Must extend horizontally over tire 4 from vertical of inside of tire to keep driver away from the tires. Must have strong seat with 3 or more of backrest. 11. Maximum 1500cc 4-Cycle, maximum 1000cc 2-Cycle, 850cc to 1500cc 4-Cycle engines, and 550cc to 900cc 2-Cycle engines will be limited to a 12 hitch height, 2-Cycle engines 900 cc to 1000cc will be limited to a 11 hitch height. 3. Maximum 1 barrel carburation per cylinder, gas or alcohol is allowed, factory fuel injection. 4. Must be equipped with working kill switch (engine and electric fuel pump). 5. Exhaust must be pointed vertical up more the 30 degrees variance. 6. Unit may run a locked up rear end. 7. The Board of Directors must approve custom built tractors prior to pulling. 8. Hitch must be no closer than 6 from hook point to center of rear axle and May not extend farther than 30 from center or rear axle. 9. 21 PROTESTING RULES AND PROCEDURES FOR GARDEN TRACTORS 1. Protest fee is $ If the tractor is found to be legal, the owner will receive the $50.00 from the protester. If found illegal, protester will have his $50.00 returned. If findings are inconclusive, a settlement will be negotiable between protester and the protester part with the Board of Directors/Officers acting as mediators. 2. All protests must be made in writing and signed by the protester. 3. Protester must be participant in the same class. 4. Protest must be made within 30 minutes of the end of the class. 5. Board of Directors/Officers may also request a tear down. 6. Tear down will be done at the end of the day s pull. All specifications of the tear down will be documented. A one week period of time will be allowed to determine status. 7. The protester must not take part in the tear down. Only the owner and two tech officials shall be present. 8. The protester must be a member of the club and be a participant of the class on the day of the protest. 9. RPM, weight or hitch height of tractor may be protested by class members or Board of Directors/Officers and must be in writing. No fee required for RPM protest to be checked before the tractor leaves sight and/or supervision of at least one designated official after unhooking from the sled. 10. Weight and hitch protest will be required to cross over the scales to be checked under the same supervision as above. 11. Failure to pass any of these requirements will result in loss of points and winnings for that violation. If violation is corrected before the next class the tractor may compete. This includes RPM, weight and hitch height. 12. The decision of the Board of Directors/Officers is final and shall not be appealable, provided however that with a showing of reasonable and good cause, Board of Directors/Officers may without liability reverse, revise or negotiate settlements between any members or protestors. 13. Calls by the flagman are not subject to appeal and are final. 14. After a tractor has been found guilty of any infraction after a tear down, they have to provide proof of legal status before pulling again. Page 20

22 TEAR DOWN RULES FOR ALL CLASSES Engines may be partially or completely disassembled as deemed necessary by the Technical Inspector. The Board of Directors/Officers will have the complete tear down procedures for all classes on file. NOTICE The Officials will settle all rules and their decisions are final. Violation of any of the aforementioned rules shall constitute disqualification. We ask everyone to comply with the rules and regulations. Penalty for cheating will result in loss of points accumulated to the date of the infraction and disqualification for up to one year and 10 days. Page 21
