4 FARMER 300 Ci: RUGGED WINNER The Farmer 300 C s are technologically mature tractors. In 2002 they were again the most sold tractor type in Germany. Rugged tractors built for daily operation excellent driving comfort, clear high-quality technology and a high resale value even after years of heavy-duty operation. The new 300 Ci will continue this success story. The compact, manoeuvrable and comfortable models combine high-quality technology, superb driving comfort and Fendt quality at an attractive price. Neutral tests and tractor comparisons carried out by independent agricultural magazines confirm these qualities. Profi 08//2002, Germany Without a question, the Farmer 300 from FENDT is mature and reliable. That is certainly the main reason why the 309 C has been the most sold tractor in Germany for years. The pulling power of the tractor profits from the high efficiency of the simple transmission which has no disc clutches. We would also like to mention the good shifting properties of the main gear lever and the synchronised shuttle gear lever, which is located to the left under the steering wheel. We really liked the power lift on the the Farmer 300 C is surely of interest to those looking for a mature and reliable no-frills tractor. And as is proper for a 300, it comes with the popular turboclutch as standard. That makes starting easier no jerking when pulling away. What we like the best about an all-round tractor like the 309 C, is its quiet and smooth running. The Farmer drives overall swiftly, especially at high speeds, thanks to the simple layout of the transmission. The rear hydraulics make a solid impression. Lower link stabilisers, which can easily be adapted to different categories, are as always very practical. And the sound-insulation with maximum 74.5 db(a) is suitable. Although it doesn t feature typical Fendt high tech, the Farmer 309 C is nevertheless a genuine Fendt. This can be seen in its distinguished appearance. Everything feels solid and the driving experience is comfortable, none the least because of the turboclutch. 4

No Fendt driver can fail to appreciate these comfort features. We know from customer reports that, once experienced in practice, no tractor driver will ever want to go without the benefits of a Turbomatic. The Turbomatic not only offers superb comfort but lets the driver forget the starting problems he used to have with a conventional clutch when operating under a heavy load. With a gear selected and the clutch engaged, the tractor starts moving as soon as the accelerator pedal is depressed, eliminating clutch slip. It then continues to accelerate smoothly to the highest speed in the selected gear. The result: no clutch wear during the starting process. When working with a rear fork lift or front loader, all that is required from the driver for a quick change in direction is the use of the F/R control lever and the clutch. The shock load stabiliser acts as an electronically controlled shock absorber. The operating comfort, control options and logical arrangement of the controls prove to be a plus in daily operation. The system is especially reliable, letting the driver concentrate fully on his work. Integrated self diagnosis for operational availability The EPC monitors itself through digital signal processing. The automatic function always sets the correct control sensitivity. The electronic shock load stabiliser acts like an electronically controlled shock absorber. The lift capacity on the rear hydraulics is a maximum of 4980 kp on the 300 Ci. This generates sufficient hydraulic power for lifting the heaviest of implements in the particular power class. Fendt engineers have designed the Farmer 300 C for implement combinations. The front hydraulics have therefore been integrated into the tractor concept in an exemplary way. The integrated gas pressure shock absorber, which reduces shock loads and vibrations, ensures maximum safety. A tilt compensation on the lower links ensures perfect adaptation of frontmounted implements, even on uneven ground. The rounded bonnet permits superb visual monitoring of front implements. The lift capacity of up to 2945 kp is designed for implements with a dead weight of max kg. Since an increase in lift height also requires increased lift capacity, the power progression of the Fendt power lift has been designed accordingly. 14 FRONT AND REAR PTO POWER SHIFT The Farmer 300 C features three rear PTO speeds (540, 750, 1000 rpm). The rear PTO can be engaged and disengaged conveniently with a hydraulically assisted lever. Along with the 1000 rpm PTO, this makes the Farmer 300 ideal tractors for working with PTO-driven implements. Convenient PTO operation without having to climb up into the cab The hydraulic PTO control makes operating the rear PTO simple and easy even from outside of the cab. Optimised PTO control The rear PTO is operated with a conveniently located lever. The driver can engage or disengage a slurry or loading wagon without having to climb up into the cab. 15 4-WD operation of rear differential disc lock PUSHBUTTON CONTROL OF 4-WD AND DIFFERENTIAL LOCK Convenient push button controls The 4-WD and differential lock can be engaged and disengaged comfortably and ergonomically, even under load, using the push buttons located on the B-column. Differential lock for maximum traction The Farmer 300 C is equipped with a differential lock in the rear with 100% disc locking. Both systems can be engaged and disengaged with a push button even under load. The 100% disc locking in the rear ensures maximum traction for heavy-duty operations. High ground clearance and manoeuvrability through lateral drive position Because of the lateral arrangement of the 4-WD, the 300 C has an especially low centre of gravity, despite its high ground clearance. The axle geometry with a 5 degree caster angle and the double cardan shaft result in a steering angle of up to 50 degrees. The small caster angle allows the 300 C to be fitted with twin tyres for soil protection without having to sacrifice manoeuvrability. 16 FUTURE-ORIENTED HYDRAULIC SYSTEM The superior quality of the 300 Ci and its universal applicability also originate from its highquality high-performance hydraulics. Front and rear-mounted implements can be operated independently. Two geared pumps ensure a high flow-rate and rapid lifting movements. The crossgate lever, flow rate control, stronger steering hydraulics and the "hydraulic turbo, which consolidates the hydraulic oil flow, ensure exceptional working comfort. Power supplied by two hydraulic pumps Two in-line connected geared pumps supply two separate hydraulic circuits, one pump delivering 37 litres/min to the power lift control valve and a maximum of 4 auxiliary control valves. The second pump (33 litre/min capacity) gives priority to the hydrostatic steering, supplying just 1 litre/min when the tractor is stationary. A load-sensing valve diverts oil only when required for actual steering. Convenient crossgate lever Two auxiliary valves can be controlled with it without having to change grips. 17 Standard: the hydraulic turbo If the driver requires an especially high delivery rate, he just has to press a button and the hydraulic oil flow is consolidated. That increases the delivery capacity to the control valves by up to 70 l/min. 1st and 3rd valve with flow rate control For the first time, the flow rate of 2 valves can be controlled steplessly from litres. Especially practical: the kick-out lock for the 1st and 3rd valves. Environmentally friendly biological oils can be used New, water-insoluble bio-oils (based on rape seed oil) are bio-degraded in the soil.
