2 Learnerships 5085 National Certificate: Professional Driving The purpose of the qualification is to ensure competent professional driving competence in the road transport sector This course is intended for drivers who are working or who intend on working in the commercial transport industry Qualification Rules: All the Fundamental Component Unit Standards are compulsory - 36 credits. All the Core Component Unit Standards are compulsory - 30 credits. For the Elective Component learners are required to attain at least 54 credits out of 63 possible credits, including at least one of the following: 1354: "Operate a vehicle combination", 0 credits. 1353: "Operate a rigid heavy vehicle", 15 credits. (gross vehicle mass above 3,5 tons) 1357: "Operate a rigid light vehicle", 10 credits. (gross vehicle mass below 3,5 tons) Theory and practical, Stationery, Portfolio of Evidence, assessments, internal. All administrative and logistical support is supplied by Learning Exchange 6 1 Months National Certificate: Construction: Plant Operations The purpose of the qualification to provide a Qualification for persons who perform construction plant activities on Civil Engineering and Construction sites This course is aimed at Construction Plant Qualification Rules: Fundamental: 36 credits Theory and practical, Stationery, Portfolio of Evidence, assessments, internal, administrative and logistical support 6 1 months
3 Operations practitioners in the Industry, ensuring the upliftment of standards in general. Core: 85 credits Elective: 1 (Minimum) credits Credit total: Minimum of 133 credits 133 The bulk of the total credit value 85 is made up of the Core learning. This is due to the following: General and basic technical skills are combined in the Qualification A working knowledge of general site work and road works construction practices are compulsory in order for learners to exit as competent Construction Plant Operators who have acquired competencies in various areas of technical specialisation. 3
4 Short Courses Operate a Counter Balanced Lift Truck A learner accredited with this standard will be able to operate lift trucks for the safe and efficient movement and stacking of freight in a variety of work environments There are a number of other unit standards which we present for specialised lift trucks such as reach trucks and rough terrain fork lifts. Should you have a special requirement, our staff will be able to assist you in identifying the correct unit standard for your equipment. Certificates issued for Lifting Equipment Operators comply with the requirements of the National Code of Practice for Lifting Equipment Operators and the Certificates issued are valid in terms of Legal Requirements This course is intended for counter balance lift Identify and classify freight truck operators. Handle Load and Store Freight Achieve maximum work performance of lifting equipment Operate equipment in accordance with operational and legislative SOP s Theoretical and practical assessments Access available support systems and emergency 100% attendance required services in case of incidents and accidents. Understand warning lights and indicators Start and shut down procedures for the rigid body dump truck. Theoretical and practical assessments Operate rigid body dump truck. 100% attendance required Document rigid body dump truck use.
