NOT JUST A UTILITY TRACTOR Built for versatility, these powerful machines excel in operations such as hay, livestock, small-scale crop production, specialty applications, loader work, and the list goes on... Boasting a powerful line of efficient Perkins 4-cylinder diesel engines, the new X5 range includes 3 models ranging from 95 to 113 maximum engine horsepower. The X5 Series is designed and built in-house at McCormick factories in Europe. The new X5 Series raises the bar for what a utility tractor should be. With outstanding performance in a wide range of applications, these new tractors are set to make a statement in the agricultural equipment market. NEXT GENERATION PERKINS DIESEL The model 854 Perkins engine in the X5 Series features proven, advanced technologies for providing power and fuel economy while keeping emissions low. Turbocharging and intercooling forces cool, dense air into the cylinders. High pressure common rail direct fuel injection ensures excellent fuel/air mixture for a more complete burn. Electronic engine management precisely controls all aspects of the engine's operation to ensure optimum power, performance, and efficiency. CLEAN WITHOUT COMPROMISE All X5 tractor models are compliant with the EPA's strict Tier 4 emissions requirments using simple and reliable technologies. Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cools down the combustion process to reduce harmful NOx gasses that can produce acid rain. A combination DOC/DPF further reduces harmful emissions without sacrificing performance. The system is fully automated for ease of operation. SINGLE PIECE HOOD The X5 models feature a single piece raising hood that opens easily to grant full access to the engine compartment for maintenance and service. Daily maintenance, such as engine oil checks, can easily be done without raising the hood.

3 STANDARD 12-SPEED GEARBOX All X5 models feature a 12-speed transmission as standard equipment. Designed and built in-house by McCormick, with helical cut gears for durability, the heavy duty transmission offers 12 forward and 12 reverse speeds. For transport applications, all models are capable of 25 mph (40 kph) maximum speed. The in-cab transmission controls consist of two levers intuitively placed in the right hand console for easy operation. One lever [A] operates 4 fully synchronized gears, while the other lever [B] operates 3 ranges. C AVAILABLE CREEPER GEAR For special applications that require the tractor to operate at high engine RPMs with a very low ground speed, a factory creeper gear set is available. Located as a 4th position on the transmission s range lever [C], the creeper provides four additional speeds to improve versatility. When in operation, the creeper allows the tractor to travel at a staggering 0.24 mph (0.39 kph) while the engine turns at rated speed. The operator has access to the engine s full power and torque while in creeper gear. B A CHOICE OF MECHANICAL OR POWER SHUTTLE TRANSMISSION When it comes to work on a farm, especially loader work, nothing beats a shuttle transmission. A shuttle provides easy shifting from forward to reverse and back again. The X5 Series offers a choice of a mechanical or hydraulic power shuttle transmission. The synchronized mechanical shuttle uses a hand lever on the left side of the steering column to mechanically engage the forward or reverse gear. ROPS models with synchro shuttle offer a high and low gear in the forward direction for 24x12 total speeds. During each direction change, the operator must depress the foot clutch while moving the shuttle lever. A large, dry disc clutch ensures durability and ease of operation. The hydraulic power shuttle uses an electronically controlled hydraulic clutch to engage the forward or reverse gear. A simple left hand shuttle lever selects the travel direction. The operator does not have to depress the foot clutch while using the shuttle lever, making operation simple. A wet, multidisc clutch is oil-cooled for a long service life. Shuttle modulation is standard, and can be adjusted on-the-go to suit the operator. 3-SPEED POWER SHIFT An available 3-speed power shift gives the operator the ability to quickly upshift and downshift through 3 power shift gears using two buttons integrated into the main transmission lever [D] to react to the changing environment. Able to shift while under load, the power shift feature can quickly respond to changing conditions, with the simple press of a button, to keep the tractor working efficiently. The de-clutch button [E] allows the operator to shift the synchronized gears without using the foot clutch pedal. E D X5 Series

PUSH-BUTTON 4WD AND DIFFERENTIAL LOCK All X5's feature electro-hydraulic 4wd engagement with the simple press of a button. The fully locking rear differenial also operates via push button for convenience. Rocker switches located in the right hand console activate the 4wd and differential lock to improve traction. The front axle has a fully locking center differential that engages with the rear axle diff. lock for true all-wheel pulling performance. FRONT AXLE BRAKES The X5 Series features integrated front axle brakes that hydraulically engage with the rear brakes when both foot pedals are pressed. The all-wheel braking system provides exceptional stopping power for safety in steep hills and during transport operations. 540 AND 1000 RPM PTO To further enhance its versatility, every X5 model includes both 540 and 1000 RPM PTO speeds to power a wide variety of implements. The rear shaft is easily changed in the field, and both shafts are included with the tractor. A lever to the left of the operator s seat selects the PTO speed, and a simple push button starts the PTO. 4WD FRONT AXLE All X4 tractors feature a 4wd front axle as standard equipment. Boasting a rugged cast steel housing with heavy duty outboard planetary final drives, the robust axle digs the front tires into the dirt for greater traction and can handle the heavy loads of loader work. Hydrostatic power steering makes turning effortless, even while working with a front loader.

5 SUPERIOR HYDRAULICS TO HANDLE ANY TASK In a utility tractor, having a good, responsive hydraulic system is paramount; and the X5 Series is well equipped to handle the biggest hydraulic demands. Featuring an open center system with a dedicated pump that puts out up to 16.6 GPM (63 LPM) of hydraulic flow to the 3-point hitch and implement system, these tractors have the brawn to do the heavy lifting around any farm. CONVENIENT FENDER CONTROLS Push buttons in both rear fenders allow the operator to control the PTO and the rear 3-point hitch from the ground for convenience (tractor must be properly equipped). A C B IN-CAB HYDRAULIC CONTROLS Controls for the rear 3-point hitch and remote valves are located in the right hand console for easy reach and operation. Intuitively placed for comfort, the remote valve levers [A] are color coded and feature rollover safety locks. For tractors equipped with a mechanical 3-point system, twin levers next to the seat [B] operate the position and draft controls. The optional electronic 3-point hitch control system features a simple push-button and rotary dial control group [C] in the right hand console for precise implement operation. REMOTE VALVES All X5 models offer 2 rear remote valves as standard equipment, with up to 4 rear valves available from the factory. Stacked horizontally, the rear valves feature ISO 1/2" quick-connect couplers with covers that are easy to reach, making implement connection easy. HEAVY LIFTING 3-POINT HITCH The X5 Series incorporates a beefy rear 3-point hitch that can lift up to 10,450 lbs (4740 kg) at the ball ends, depending on the model and equipment. The ASAE Category 2 hitch features adjustable lift arms and extendable ball ends for easy implement hookup. Telescopic stabilizers can be locked into position or allowed to sway freely to match the job at hand. Lower link draft sensing lets the operator customize the hitch s performance for maximum productivity. X5 Series

6 Raising the bar......for what a utility tractor should be CHOOSE YOUR ENVIRONMENT The X5 Series is available in either an open station ROPS or enclosed cab configuration. The open station offers a wide semi-flat foot deck with suspended seat and adjustable steering wheel to maximize comfort. A folding ROPS and horizontal exhaust lets the tractor work in height restricted areas or enter buildings with low overhead space. Cab models sport a large 4-post structure with completely flat foot deck and twin opening doors for easy entry and exit. A deluxe air-suspended operator s seat is fully adjustable to make long days in the field less tiring. The cab sits high on the chassis to offer unprecedented visibility in all directions. Bright field lights in the hood and in the front and rear roof line, allow for daytime work to continue into the night. External left and right mirrors help improve the operator's vision, and a vertical exhaust pipe follows the cab pillar to further increase visibility. COMFORTABLE CLIMATE CONTROL The sealed environment of the cab includes a stout HVAC with twin blowers to keep the inside climate comfortable in all weather conditions. Both external and recirculating air filters ensure a clean, dustfree environment, and all filters are easily accessed for cleaning and maintenance.

7 EXCELLENT VISIBILITY The panoramic cab has large glass doors and windows to provide 360 degrees of visibility for safe, comfortable operation. Both doors open widely for easy cab access, and the rear window opens easily when needed. There is even a window in the roof, near the front windshield, allowing the operator to see a raised loader bucket without having to lean forward. The front dash, with digital display, tilts with the steering wheel on cab models for better visibility to keep the operator informed of the tractor s performance. Lighting controls are placed near the steering wheel for easy reach and operation. VERSATILE, HARD-WORKING FRONT LOADERS The L-Series front loaders have been designed with convenience, durability and performance in mind. With a single lever [A], the "Euro" hook-type tool connector lets the operator quickly remove the bucket and attach a wide variety of popular attachments. Easily accessible bushings with grease fittings promote a long service life. The hose routing system within the loader frame prevents damage and allows for excellent visibility. The quick attach loader design with standard parking stands allows the entire loader frame to be removed easily without requiring tools. A INSTRUCTOR'S SEAT An available instructor s seat integrates into the forward section of the left side console to provide a safe, comfortable place for an instructor to sit during tractor demonstrations. When not in use, the padded cloth seat with seat belt folds up and out of the way to offer greater space for entering and exiting the tractor.
