2 Intrductin What is a Tggle lamp? Tggle clamp is a simple echanism which hlds instantly. The Tggle lamps nsist f a handle t perate, a lamping rm t Reach the wrk piece, linkages fr multiplying the applied frce, and a base fr munting at the wrkplace n it s base. The handle is perated which thereby mves the clamping arm t hld the wrk piece. required clamping frce is achieved and exerted n the wrk piece. In mst cases, rughly 1/3rd f the stated hlding capacity can be applied by hand with medium effrt. g ldin ce r Tggle rinciple: Tggle actin clamps perate thrugh a linkage system f levers and pivts. The fixed length levers, cnnected by pivt pins supply the actin and clamping frce. Tggle actin has an ver centre lck pint which is a fixed stp and linkage. Once in the ver centre psitin, the clamp cannt mve r unlck unless the linkage is mved. ll types f tggle clamps have same actin, just riented differently. The Tggle echanism in a clamp has three functins. 1) T multiply applied lad at the handle int a high clamping frce t hld the wrk piece. 2) T create an ver - centre lck t prevent the clamp frm pening & releasing the wrk piece until pened by the peratr. 3) T rapidly pen & clse the clamp giving a maximum clearance in which t lad & unlad the wrk piece. These clamps are manufactured with a hlding capacity up t 00 kgs. The clamping exhibits a minimum f pening angle giving full clearance fr lading & unlading f wrkpiece. lamping arm can be slid bar, U shaped r fixed hle t suit individual requirements. ull ctin lamps : (-Series) Steel-Smith's ull ctin lamps are designed fr sealing chambers, drs, muld clsures r ther such applicatins requiring clsure mechanisms. The handle can be mved t place the clamping U - lt ar hk arund the ppsing latch & pull dwn t reach the lck psitin. The threaded "hk" r "U-blt type bar ffer an adjustment feature.
