Page 1 of 10 Technical Service Bulletin SUBJECT: TPMS SENSOR ID REGISTRATION PROCEDURE SERVICE MANUAL REVISION No: DATE: October, 2011 MODEL: See below CIRCULATE TO: [ ] GENERAL MANAGER [ X ] PARTS MANAGER [ X ] TECHNICIAN [ X ] SERVICE ADVISOR [ X ] SERVICE MANAGER [ ] WARRANTY PROCESSOR [ ] SALES MANAGER TSB Revision PURPOSE TPMS sensors (transmitters) on the affected vehicles are now available as service parts. Accordingly, the Tire Pressure Sensor ID Registration procedures in the affected service manuals have been revised to reflect this change. This bulletin provides the revised sensor ID registration procedures for the affected service manual pages. AFFECTED VEHICLES Endeavor 2006 Galant Montero AFFECTED SERVICE MANUALS 2004 Endeavor, page Endeavor, page Endeavor, page Galant, page Montero, page 31, page to Montero, page to Montero, page to Continued Copyright 2011, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc The information contained in this bulletin is subject to change. For the latest version of this document, go to the Mitsubishi Dealer Link, MEDIC, or the Mitsubishi Service Information website (

Page 2 of Endeavor page Replace the page with the following: NOTE: If transmitter case is BEIGE color, go to Step (4). (1) Clean the TPMS transmitter location on the wheel rim. (3) If the tire pressure sensor ID code is not displayed on the MUT III screen, go to Step (4). (4) Increase or decrease the tire pressure by 20 kpa (2.9 psi) or more so that the TPMS transmitter send the latest sensor data. NOTE: It may take approximately one minute until the tire pressure change data is displayed on the MUT III screen. If the tire pressure change data is not displayed on the MUT III screen, the most possible cause is that the radio wave signal sent from the TPMS transmitter cannot be received. In this case, turn the tire to change the TPMS transmitter position, then perform the procedures from step (1) again.

Page 3 of Endeavor pages 31 68, 69; 2006 Endeavor page Replace the page with the following: Register the tire pressure sensor IDs as described in the procedure below. NOTE: You can start out the following operations from any TPMS transmitter. The tire pressure sensor ID registration has no order. NOTE: If transmitter case is BEIGE color, go to Step (4). (1) Clear the TPMS transmitter location on the wheel rim. (2) Position MIT46716 or a strong magnet as shown, and hold it there for 5 seconds or more. NOTE: By doing this, the reed switch (incorporated in the TPMS transmitter) will activate the TPMS transmitter to send the tire pressure sensor ID. NOTE: If the TPMS transmitter is not activated, slide the magnet until it is activated. If the TPMS transmitter is still not activated, move the vehicle (turn the tire) by approximately ½ turn of the tire. Then try again to activate the TPMS transmitter. (3) If the tire pressure sensor ID code is not displayed on the MUT III screen, go to Step (4). (4) Decrease the tire pressure to 174 kpa (25.2 psi) or less by changing 20 kpa (2.9 psi) or more, and register the tire pressure sensor ID code of each wheel to TPMS receiver. NOTE: On completion of the tire pressure sensor ID code registration, the tire pressure sensor ID code is displayed on the MUT III. MUT III cannot identify which registered TPMS transmitter is used for each wheel. For this reason, write down the tire number for each wheel when the tire number and ID code are displayed on the scan tool during ID code registration. If the ID code is not displayed, reduce the tire pressure another 20 kpa (2.9 psi) or more. If the ID code is still not displayed, rotate the tire to displace the TPMS transmitter, and reduce the tire pressure 20 kpa (2.9 psi) or more again.

Page 4 of Endeavor pages 31 68, 69; 2006 Endeavor page Replace the page with the following: (continued) If the ID code cannot be registered for all four wheels, the TPMS receiver may be faulty. Replace the TPMS receiver. If the ID code cannot be registered for one wheel or more, the TPMS transmitter in which the code cannot be registered may be faulty. Replace that TPMS transmitter. 11. Check completion of the above through scan tool MB Repeat the above steps 10 and 11 for all TPMS transmitter fitted tires (including TPMS transmitter fitted spare tire). 13. Check the completion of the tire pressure sensor ID registration (display on the screen.) 14. After tire pressure sensor ID registration, correct the tire pressure for all wheels. If the TPMS indicator does not go out, drive the vehicle for approximately 5 minutes and check the indicator again. If ti still does not go out, register the ID code again. Then turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (OFF) position. 15. Remove scan tool MB

Page 5 of Galant page Replace the page with the following: Register the tire pressure sensor IDs as described in the procedure below. NOTE: If transmitter case is BEIGE color, go to Step (4).
