Quality Assurance CRANE Nuclear, Inc. holds ASME Authorization for N Stamped Class 1, 2 and 3 valves and NPT Class 1, 2 and 3 parts and materials. NR repairs, modifications and replacements of Class 1, 2 and 3 valves and piping are provided under National Board Certificates. 4 Like for Like and Engineer to Order Valves Crane Nuclear offers a wide variety of valves. Pressure Seal and Bolted Bonnet Gates, Globes and Checks plus quarter turn High Performance Butterfly Valves, Plug Valves and Ball Valves, and specialty Nozzle Check and Dual Plate Check valves. At Crane Nuclear, you can get exactly what you want since we are a make to order facility. We provide quotes based on your specific RFQ s and Specifications. We thoroughly evaluate your requirements during the RFQ phase, and quote a product that matches your requirements. We do not quote a standard product that does not meet your specifications, and then take exception after receiving an order. The valves we quote and provide fall into two broad categories; Like for Like and Engineer to Order. Like for Like valves are exact duplicate replacements to valves already installed and in service. They can be provided for the full range of Crane brands (Crane, Chapman, Pacific, Stockham, Xomox, Flowseal, Aloyco, Flomatics, Walworth equivalent). When you need an exact duplicate valve that will fit exactly into your installed base of valves, Crane Nuclear can provide that valve. The valves will be built to the original manufacturing bills of materials and drawings with the same dimensions and general materials of construction. Crane Nuclear can certify the new valves as being identical to those originally provided (frequently during initial plant construction). The parts in the new valve will be interchangeable with the parts in the originally provided valves. Since it is certified as being identical to the original valve, there is no need to justify the replacement. You need to do no equivalency evaluations. Your engineering requirements are limited to the removal and replacement of the currently installed valve. If it is required that any material of construction be changed from the original, such as asbestos packing, obsolete material, cobalt free hardfacing, etc., then the replacement material will meet or exceed the original material. When this occurs, an updated assembly drawing, referencing the original assembly drawing, will be provided in the customer desired paper or electronic format. Material reconciliations prepared by the CNI Engineering Department can be provided for review. Engineer to Order valves are those being provided when a Like for Like is not needed. Examples would be a plant modification project, or an upgrade to an existing system. Engineer to Order valves are based on customer stated requirements, usually in the form of an RFQ description supported by a Valve Data Sheet and a Specification. They are not exact replacements to installed valves with fully interchangeable parts. They are based on the most suitable of the extensive current Crane brand designs, modified as necessary to meet customer requirements. Typically, in addition to the safety related required manufacturing, QA and material records, they are provided with full documentation in the form of Design Reports, Seismic Reports, Installation and Maintenance Manuals and cross sectional Assembly Drawings identifying the component parts and materials of construction. 4
