The Videoline 204-RP is the optimum test lane for check-in, final inspection, tests in line with government standards, and training classes. The vehicle test in the presence of your customer and the relative print-out make diagnostics much more trans parent and increase your customers confidence. Modular design Owing to the modular design it is possible to buy test lane components step by step: Basis is the brake tester, whereas suspension tester and side-slip tester can be retrofitted at a later date. All components of Cartec testing equipment can be combined at customer s discretion. 3 Customised operation of testing equipment Brakes and shock absorbers are wear parts and there are numerous possible defects which might occur. Basic module brake tester Regular diagnostics with results documented on the test record provide an additional service and profit for your shop. The complete vehicle test can be accomplished with the fully automatic test sequence where all testing units (brake tester, suspension tester and slide-slip tester) start automatically. Short testing times of 2 to 3 minutes only mean an increased vehicle throughput. A remote control is no longer necessary. The features to be tested are detected by means of well-proven strain-gauge type load cells. This wear-free measuring system ensures reliable and error-free measurement of the forces produced. The basic brake test covers the following measurements/calculations: rolling resistance ovality braking force imbalance left/right braking force left/right braking efficiency The radio remote control unit can be used to control the testing equipment from driver s seat at the entire discretion of the operator, e.g. by starting the brake tester only, or by conducting the tests in the sequence he prefers.

4 Test lane for cars and vans RP box Latest technology for highest flexibility. Two different measuring systems are available: Eusama-based suspension tester Two independent test plates determine vehicle chassis vibrations as they phase out. The forces thus produced, which might adversely effect the vibratory behaviour of the vehicle, are detected and calculated (dynamic analysis). Theta-type suspension tester The RP box with integrated electronics is the technological core of the system. Communication with the workstation or the display kit is wireless, which allows flexible and simple installation. Additional modules This simple-to-operate suspension tester provides an unmistakable and highly accurate procedure for evaluation of suspension values. The evaluation is based on determination of the damping ratio ϑ according to Lehr, with a limit value being defined where wheel suspension no longer guaranteessufficient vehicle safety. Noise test module The suspension tester can be equipped with the noise test module (optional for Eusama, included in the standard delivery for Theta) as conventional techniques hardly allow localising any noise on or inside the vehicle. With this noise test module every single wheel can be set into vibrations with the remote control unit. In the test cycle to follow, which is started either manually, or automatically, the noise is easily localised. Side-slip tester SSP 204 Suspension testers FWT 202-E Eusama-based suspension tester FWT 202-T Theta-type suspension tester Shock absorbers wear slowly so that customers often do not recognise it. In less than a minute the suspension tester enables you to determine the cause of dangerous cornering abilities, irregular tyre wear, steering wheel vibrations, insufficient driving stability in case of cross winds, and poor braking performance. The side-slip tester is designed to measure toe of the vehicle under test immediately. No additional tests are necessary as the testing plate is positioned directly in front of the suspension or brake tester and the vehicle simply rolls over. The data automatically detected supplies a sound diagnostics of toe-in and toe-out. The measured value is read out in 0 +/ 20 mm/m.

5 Display modules Workstation Virtual analogue display The workstation is supplied with control unit, 27 TFT flat screen, A4 inkjet printer, keyboard and mouse and an extended software package. Portable controller device In addition to the workstation you may handle the test lane via portable controller device such as a tablet PC. 6 Test lane for cars and vans Options Optional built-in frame These built-in frames considerably facilitate preparation of foundations. There is no need to embed in concrete a steel beam with edge guards which is otherwise inevitable. None the less built-in frames are always exactly level with ground. Optional pneumatic lifting device Optional roller cover plates As the lifting device raises the vehicle to ground level, driving in and off the rollers is considerably facilitated and hence especially advantageous for vehicles with sports chassis, low ground clearance, or small wheel diameters where damage to the underbody is very likely under usual conditions. 10 Test lane for 2-wheeled scooters and motorbikes The brake tester The concept This test lane provides the optimal solution for the inspection of 2-wheeled scooters and motorbikes. Transducers for command effort A complete range of transducers to measure the command effort are available. The equipment of the lane and the fastening systems available have been specifically designed to provide accurate tests whilst providing maximum safety for the operators. The BDE 500 B The BDE 500 B roller brake tester measures the braking forces on the wheel, the weight of the wheel and it calculates the resulting braking efficiency. Effective corrosion resistance is ensured with hot dip galvanisation. Steel rollers coated with a wear resistant resin guarantee reliable tests in any conditions and do not damage the tyres. Splash-proof motors. The measurement is carried out by well-proven strain-gauge type load cells free of the wear. 11 Test lane for 2-wheeled scooters and motorbikes The speedometer and fastening system The GPS 005 The speedometer GPS 005 measures the distance, test time, current test speed and maximum speed of 2-wheeled scooters up to 80 km/h. It can also be used combined with an exhaust emissions analyser to check the exhaust gases of no catalytic scooters and motorbikes Eddy current brake Measurement of the exhaust emissions The firmware includes an open serial protocol in order to connect the GPS 005 directly to an exhaust emissions analyser, this allow the measurement of the emissions in conditions similar to road ones. Warning lamp The warning lamp indicates that the maximum speed limit of the speedometer has been reached. Fastening systems and accessories The lane is supplied with a pneumatic or mechanically controlled vehicle fastening system. These systems ensure that the tests are carried out correctly and in complete safety for the operator and the vehicle. A whole range of accessories is available as well all necessary devices for the calibration and maintenance of the equipment. Mechanical fastening During testing the rolling resistance is simulated with an eddy current brake integrated in the bench. GPS 005: Software The user interface has been designed to be as simple as possible. Before the test the integrated standard pneumatic rollers brake is released. No other command parts are required. The test speed is displayed, rendering it even easier to use. Cooling device The cooling device, consisting of a high capacity double electric fan,prevents the scooter from overheating during the test at maximum speed. Roller coating The steel rollers with wear-proof plastic coating on welded expanded metal mesh guarantee tyre-preserving vehicle tests. Alternatively SmoothGrip rollers are available, featuring thousands of nubs welded onto the steel rollers to ensure long life, low tyre wear and best suitability for spiked tyres. Braking force transducers The features to be tested are detected by means of well-proven strain-gauge type load cells. This wear-free measuring system ensures reliable and error-free measurement of the forces produced. Rust-proof feeler rolls The brake test does not start before both feeler rolls are depressed. Alternatively truck brake testers of 13 t axled load and more are available with level rollers, dual direction testing and 4WD mode. Basic equipment The brake testers consist of the following basic equipment: roller set with cables display cabinet The mechanical parts are hot-galvanised and the motors are splash-proof the optimum prerequisite to withstand harsh shop conditions and outdoor installation. Automatic test sequence After the error check routine the brake test starts automatically, determining rolling resistance of tight brakes, ovality of brake drum and brake disc and the permanent braking force imbalance between left-hand and right-hand sides. The data measured for the individual axles is assigned automatically.

17 BDE roller brake testers for trucks Control options Optional pocket PC PWA Display cabinet SC With SC versions the electronic unit is integrated in the display cabinet, hence no power cabinet is required. Display cabinet COMBI The optional PWA (pocket workshop assistant) is a pocket PC with Cartec testing software (country- or customer-specific software must be ordered separately and is not included in delivery) and integrated remote control which can replace other display units such as display cabinet or monitor. The entire test sequence is controlled from driver s seat. Only the function keys required for the current test are displayed on the screen. Control is via touch screen. A PC station is necessary for connection of the PWA. Tablet PC The COMBI display cabinet can be used in conjunction with the power cabinet only. Power cabinet As an alternative to the pocket PC the tablet PC is rugged and very handy and has the added benefit that no specific user software is required. PC cabinet (optional) Measuring range of 0 6 / 0 30 kn for BDE 3504 N 13 t Measuring range of 0 8 / 0 40 kn for BDE 3504 N 15 t BDE 4504 N 16 t and 20 t BDE 4504 G 16 t When a car is tested, the measuring range switches automatically to 6 kn or 8 kn. In addition there is the possibility of simultaneous operation, e.g. with the display cabinet installed in the check-in bay and connected via COM lead to the PC which is for instance located in the shop office. The optional PC cabinet offers ample space for a PC, a TFT monitor, an A4 ink-jet printer, keyboard and mouse. Testing software Main screen Graphical brake analysis

18 BDE roller brake testers for trucks Brake tester options Side-slip tester SSP 4000 The side-slip tester is designed tomeasure toe of the vehicle under test. The results of toe-in and toe-out respectively are read out on theoptional integrated LED on the display cabinet, or in graphical form on the optional monitor. Joint-play detector GST 4500 The joint play detector GST 4500 FA is a useful supplement for check-in or inspections to carry out a visual check of axle play. The galvanised test plates are operated hydraulically upon key operation of the test lamp. The test plates can be controlled one by one, in counter-directions (4-way control), or in same directions (8-way control). 4WD kit In 4WD mode the roller sets arestarted in counter-directions to prevent damage to gearbox and axle of 4WD buses and trucks. Lifting device HBV 4000 The lifting device HBV 4000 can be used only in conjunction with BDE 4504 N 20 t with rollers 1000 mm long and wheel / axle load weighing unit to simulate various wheel / axle loads. The roller set is raised and pressed against the vehicle under test. Load simulator NSV 4000 The load simulator NSV 4000 is designedto simulate various axle loads of 0 to 10,000 kg on trucks by pulling the vehicle downwards by means of chains. Load simulator NSV 3000 Same as NSV 4000, but with one instead of two cylinders to simulate axle loads of 0 to 2,800 kg; for use on all truck brake testers of type N, N SC, G, G SC for 13t and more. Wheel / axle load weighing unit The wheel / axle load weighing unit is designed to automatically detect, calculate and store weight. The values are read out on the optional integrated LED on the display cabinet, or ingraphical form on the optional monitor. Safety device for pit installation Mandatory for use in Germany!If somebody enters the pit, the roller sets are stopped at once. Pressure transducers Set of 2 to 8 off, wireless design, also available as cable type transducer. The values measured remain available also for later analysis. Pedal force measuring systems For pedal force measurement during the brake test pedal force measuring systems are available in cable orwireless design. Pedal pressure is read out either on an optional integrated LED on the display cabinet, or ingraphical form on the optionalmonitor. One version is available with integrated display and power supply.

22 Emission Analyser Series Digital Emission Analyser CET 211 is used to measure the concentration of emission gases in the exhaust of petrol engines. It can be used both for exhaust check in periodic mandatory tests and for ordinary service and maintenance operations on petrol engines. The device comes standard with a printer that allows to present the result of the measurement to the customer. Measuring Unit CET 211 is equipped with the measuring cell AMBII from SENSORS, which meets worldwide measurement standards, whilst providing accurate and reliable emission measurement data and maintaining a light-weight, compact package. With elimination of all moving parts the lifetime operational costs of the unit remain low. Pneumatic Unit The water separator group is injection moulded, in order to reduce emission path length and maintenance time. Homologations Conforms to ISO 3930/OIML Class 0 MID 2004/22/CE and 2014/32/EU CE supplementary metrology marking Several national homologations CET 210 Operating Modes CET 210 is identical with CET 211. As it is meant to be used with a PC it comes without displays and printer.

23 CET 220 Smoke Meter CET 220 is a smoke meter for diesel engines. With its small, compact size and the power supply CET 220 can be used as a portable tool. Features The special design of the chamber avoids generation of turbulence inside, the walls are anti-reflective owing to a special treatment. The glass cleaning system uses two air flows generated by two fans, electronically controlled to provide alarm in case of no function or speed reduction. Two heating systems stabilse the temperature of the chamber at 90 C to avoid cooling of the smoke sample. They function alternatively in order to reduce power consumption. The pressure inside the chamber is monitored so as not to exceed 7 mbar. Homologations Conforms to ISO Several national homologations CET 220 wireless In combination with a trolley, a Bluetooth module and a car battery the smoke meter becomes independent from any wires so that it may be used flexibly in any workshop and testing station. MGT-300 EVO RPM Counter MGT-300 EVO is equipped with the advanced neutral network technology that allows to identify and isolate main noise signals that could affect measurement accuracy. Thanks to this technology, MGT-300 EVO can adapt its software parameters to environmental conditions, refining and optimising the accuracy of the values returned. The optional EOBD connection interface connected to MGT-300 EVO via the handy Bluetooth connection allows to directly acquire EOBD codes.
