3 Compressor - Forced Lubrication System o Verify proper operation of the lubrication system o Troubleshooting techniques using a trabon gun Day 2 (8Hrs) Engine Maintenance o Proper procedures to adjust the valve clearance on high speed engines Waukesha VHP, CAT 3500 & 3600 engines the intake and exhaust valve assemblies it also covers taking valve recessions and the tooling and procedures necessary to take and record this information for predictive maintenance o Hands - on valve setting using head simulator (Waukesha & CAT) o The student will understand and be able to identify the correct OEM procedures for setting valves and taking valve recessions o The student will demonstrate the ability to set valves IAW approved OEM procedures o The student will demonstrate the ability to take valve recessions and properly use the special tooling for taking valve recessions o The student will be able to identify and record all necessary readings for documentation purposes Wednesday and Thursday May 1-2, 2013 Technical Course (TC6) Engine Controls Instructors Joey Mire, Engine Controls Attendees will be better equipped to troubleshoot unit control systems and operate their reciprocating machinery assets more safely while better meeting production and reliability goals. o Detailed classroom and hands-on instruction on key aspects of engine compressor control, and machinery protection. FW Murphy is providing an operating engine (driving water brake) for hands-on training experience. We will cover machinery control panel operating principles; unit start/stop sequencing, group alarm monitoring (inc. Class A, B and C monitoring), engine starters, ignition, AFR and speed governing. We will also cover system analog and discrete IO troubleshooting.
