1. Introduction Thank for Choosing our products. This Owner s manual contains information needed for proper operation, maintenance and care. If you have any questions about the operation or maintenance of outboard motor, please contact Forza Power Equipment or your nearest Forza Authorized Dealer. Please read and understand Owners Manual completely before you using it. 2. Safety Information 1. Before installing and operating the outboard motor, please read the manual carefully to fully understand proper operation of the outboard motor. 2. Make sure the rated power of the outboard motor does not exceed the boat's maximum power rating. Exceeding the boat's maximum power rating may cause sudden loss of control. If you don t know the maximum power capacity of your boat, please consult the boat manufacturer or nearest dealer. 3. Do not modify the outboard motor, or you may damage the engine or make it unsafe. 4. Do not consume alcohol or drugs before or while operating the engine or boat. Around 50% of boating accidents are related to alcohol consumption. 5. Make sure everyone on the boat has a life vest. Children and others who cannot swim should always wear life vest. All occupants should wear a life vest when in inclement weather or other dangerous situations. 6. Gasoline burn easily. The vapor is easy to ignite and explode. Be careful when opening or refilling the fuel tank. 7. Check there are no gasoline leaks or vapor before starting engine. 8. The exhaust gas from the engine contains carbon monoxide, which is colorless and odorless. It can cause brain damage and even death after inhaling carbon monoxide. Symptoms include nausea, dizziness and disorientation. Keep the boat ventilated and keep the exhaust from being blocked. 9. Check on the throttle and the propeller before starting the engine. 9.Comply with all local laws and regulations when operating the outboard motor. 10. Pay close attention to the weather. Check the weather forecast before boating. Avoid boating under harsh weather conditions. 11. Tell someone where you plan to go or offer your sailing plan to the harbormaster, and check in when you return safely. 12. Practice safe boating. Keep sailing with a safe speed, avoid obstacles or barriers and watch for traffic. 13. Watch out for swimmers nearby when starting or operating engine. 14. Keep far away from swimming areas. Turn off the engine when a swimmer is in nearby water. 3. Refueling Information The gasoline and vapor is easy to ignite, burn or explode! 1.Do not refuel while smoking and keep away from the any source of fire or spark 2.Turn off the engine when refueling.
4. Safety Matters 1. DO NOT use the outboard motor in enclosed spaces. 2. Keep the hands and feet away from any moving or rotating parts. 3. DO NOT use in the vicinity of an open flame, any source of ignition or other fuel storage tanks. 4. DO NOT refuel indoors or in any confined spaces. 5. DO NOT open the fuel tank and/or refuel when outboard motor running or while at a high temperature. (Outboard motor should be cooled for 2 mins before refueling) 6. DO NOT allow fuel to overflow and check for leakage before starting outboard motor. (Repair fuel leak before using the outboard motor). 7. DO NOT use the stop choke method to stop the engine. 8. DO NOT hit the flywheel with a hammer or a hard object to avoid fragmentation in the rotation. 9. DO NOT operate the outboard motor at high speed in the case of light loading of the vessel. 10. DO NOT run engine without muffler installed. Regularly inspect the muffler to ensure it is operating properly. If not, replace the muffler. 11.DO NOT rapidly accelerate or make a high speed emergency stop. Non-factory personnel should not adjust the carburetor. 12. DO NOT operate the outboard motor if the muffler has piled up debris or other flammable materials near exhaust. 13. DO NOT touch the muffler and cylinder cooling fins to avoid burns when working. 14. DO NOT OPERATE without air filter cover or an air filter. 15. Check that the vessel engine capacity matches the outboard motor. 16. In order to prevent accidents when repairing the outboard motor, please remove the spark plug and ground wire. 17. Please use clean gasoline to prevent carburetor blockage or hard starting. 18. Please check the oil pipe for damage and leaks and replace, if needed. 19. Please use only FORZA spare parts, or else the outboard motor may get damaged.
5. Preparation 1. Lubrication Information Use high quality clean lubricants, we do not recommended any special additive lubricants. Please Add 320ml of oil for new machines, then check the oil level gauge scale to ensure the correct amount of oil. Figure (1) 2. Fuel Information Only use clean, unleaded gasoline. (87 Octane or above). Gasoline should be used within 30 days of purchase. DO NOT use gasoline containing more than 10% Ethanol. NOTICE: Turn off the outboard motor and let the engine cool at least 2 mins before refueling. 6. Operation 1.Preparation before starting 1.1 Push the priming bulb on carburetor until fuel flows through the return fuel line. 1.2 Move choke lever to the closed position(figure 4-direction of the arrow reversed in the end). Once the engine warms up, move the choke lever to the fully open position. 2.Starting 2.1 Recoil start Pull the starter grip lightly until resistance is felt, then pull briskly starting the engine. Difficulty in starting may occur due to too much fuel, remove the spark plug. Fully open choke lever and pull recoil starter 5-6 times, then reinstall the spark plug, and restart using the method above.
2.2 After starting the outboard motor, adjust idle speed after warming up motor for 3 to 5 mins. 3.Stop machine Adjust the engine idle speed and let run another 30 seconds before stopping. Do not close choke lever to stop engine or it may cause engine damage. 7.Maintenance 1.Machine Maintenance The following date and time intervals, regardless of the order. 1.1 Replace engine oil once every 10 hours. 1.2 Routinely inspect: screws, bolts and nuts are tight, check for oil leaks or air leakage. 1.3 Every 8 hours, clean dust from all machine surfaces, and use gasoline to clean air filter. 1.4 Every 50 hours, clean fuel tank, filter and carburetor. 1.5 Every working 100 hours, clean muffler; take off the fan, remove the oil on the fan;checking high-tension cable connections;take off cylinder, remove the combustion clamber and piston crown fouling;cleaning inside the crankcase. 2. Accessories Maintenance 2.1 Clean and/or replace any damaged or contaminated foam air flter Loosen air filter cover fastening screws, remove the air filter assembly from the base Remove the air filter cover and take off the foam filter Use detergent and clean water to wash the foam filter and squeeze clean, removing excess oil. 2.2 Spark plug Every 50 hours clean spark plug to prevent fouling; Every 100 hours replace the spark plug. The spark plug gap is mm. 2.3 Magneto Magneto gap should be in 0.4~0.6mm. 2.4 Keeping engine clean Regularly clean any dirt, DO NOT use pressure washer, only use brush or high pressure air to clean Before starting, remove any combustible materials near muffler around to avoid fire Clean debris to prevent blockage of the cooling system ducts, regular cleaning the cooling fan to avoid too heat and machinery damage.
8. Storage and Transportation 1. Empty gasoline to avoid fuel line and carburetor blockage if motor will not be used for a period exceeding 30 days or for seasonal storage. 2. If putting in long-term storage, please empty gasoline from fuel tank, then run the machine, until the engine stopped due to lack of gasoline. Remove the spark plug, inject engine oil into combustion chamber, pull starter handle several times so that the piston does not sieze. 3. Clean the cylinder, cylinder head cooling fins and the areas around the muffler. 4. Storage on a clean and dry place, keep it away from the stove and the other heater appliance. 9. Common Faults and Troubleshooting Method The Common Failures The engine can not start. Lack of engine power. Possible Causes The choke valve position is not correct No fuel or f u el line is obstructed. Spark plug or the magneto. Air filter obstructed Fuel line obstructed The choke valve position is not correct The muffler is obstructed. Solutions 1.Move the choke valve handle to the opening position when engine warms. 2.Move the choke valve handle to the closing position when starting a cold engine. 1.If you do not press the carburetor primer bulb, please push 3-4 times. 2.If the fuel runs out, refill the fuel tank 3.If there is foreign matter in the tank or fuel line, please clean foreign matter before adding the new fuel. 1. Replace the spark plug if broken. 2. Spark plug fouled. Inspect spark plug gap and clean off any carbon deposits. 3.If the spark plug electrode gap is submerged by oil, remove the spark plug and dry before installation. 4. High-voltage wires broken or loose, please replace or tighten. 5. If the stator is loose, adjust the gap and tighten. 6. If the high pressure cap and spark plug is bad, you should tighten or replace the spark plug cap. Check the filter parts are not blocked by dirt. C lean or replace the filter as needed. If there is foreign matter or impurities in the tank or fuel line, please keep the oil drain and remove the foreign matter before adding the oil. It should be placed in full open position when running. The muffler is obstructed by carbon deposit, it should be clean routinely. If the above methods for troubleshooting are unsuccessful or an uncommon fault occurs, please ask our authorized dealer or service providers promptly, or send the engine to the dealer for repair or maintenance.
