Sumake WH 202A Auto Transmission Exchanger The Sumake WH 202A Auto Transmission Exchanger will safely remove virtually 100% of old dirty auto transmission fluids and replace them with fresh clean oil in under 20 minutes. You can expect to make profits of around $80 to $120 in this time. Your customer will notice the difference and often send their friends to you too! The WH 202A is powered by 230volts and comes with 20 different connectors which will fit most vehicles. Oil can be exchanged via the cooler lines or if necessary via the dip stick tube. This quality product has been around for nearly 3 decades and has a well-earned reputation for being reliable and very user-friendly. Two 20L tanks are fitted for new and used oil storage. Glass tubes allow you to see the oil changing colour. Easy to operate controls make the WH 202 a pleasure to use. Dimensions: W 510mm x D 565mm x H 900mm Weight: 46 Kg Warranty: 12 months 1

Using the Sumake WH-202 ATF Power Flush Transmission Flusher Initial filling Fill the new fluid reservoir of the Power Flush machine with 20 litres of ATF through the filler nozzle on top of the machine with the special funnel that screws into place. Fill the hopper until the bottle labelled New Oil is full. Make sure that the new oil is in the New Oil tank in the cabinet. Connect the 230 volt power supply. The vehicles transmission oil must be at operating temperature of between 50 to 60 deg C. The oil level and condition should also be checked before starting the procedure. Ensure that the vehicles gear selector is in Park and the parking brake is engaged for safety. Stop the vehicle s engine. 2

Connecting to the vehicle. 1. Make sure that all gauges on the WH-202 are in the closed position. I.e. Both arrows pointing upwards (12:00 o clock) position. 2. Identify the fluid pressure pipe that runs from the transmission to the lower radiator tank/oil cooler and select and install appropriate fittings for the make and model of vehicle from the selection provided with the machine. Note: On some makes and models the pipes can be accessed under the bonnet, on others it will be necessary to hoist the vehicle and gain access from underneath. 3

3. Connect the BLACK hose to the oil pressure side of the transmission line and the Red hose to the return side. (To confirm that the oil lines are connected the correct way around to the machine, when starting the vehicle engine the oil pressure gauge on the centre of the WH-202 is registering a pressure reading and also the checking ring inside the viewing glass on the LEFT HAND side will be at the Bottom of the glass during operation. If not, reverse the hoses. 4. Start the engine and allow it to idle. Allow the oil to circulate for 5 minutes. The flow of old ATF can be regulated via the valve switch on the connector end of the BLACK hose; however this is not normally regarded as necessary. At the end of the service make sure this valve is closed for storage. Note: When the vehicle transmission is plumbed into the machine and it is running with both of the controls in the upward (12:00 o clock) position, the machine is in Circulation mode and is not transferring any fluid. This is ideal for when warming up the ATF fluid before exchanging. Draining the old ATF fluid from the transmission. 1. Turn the RIGHT HAND selector to the clockwise (3:00 o clock) position and observe the old ATF oil passing through the sight glass from top to bottom. The gauge in the centre of the WH-202 will register a pressure reading. At this stage the vehicles transmission pump is doing the work and will pump the ATF oil to the waste oil tank. The machine MUST NEVER BE LEFT UNATTENDED during this procedure as the transmission will run dry. 2. After the vehicle has pumped 5 to 7 litres of oil (or when the oil in the sight glass aerates) then the RIGHT HAND control selector must be turned back to the vertical (12:00 o clock) position. 4

Refilling the transmission with new ATF fluid 1. To replenish the vehicle with new ATF press the OIL REFILL SWITCH to ON. The electric pump will now pump new ATF into the vehicle s transmission. 2. Now there will be new ATF fluid flowing through the sight glass. Observe the new fluid level flowing through the sight glass and monitor the NEW OIL tank to ensure that the correct amount of oil is fed into the vehicle s transmission. 3. Beware not to overfill the transmission at this stage and check the oil level frequently until the correct level is reached. Turn off the OIL REFILL switch. 4. If the transmission is overfilled inadvertently, turn the RIGHT HAND selector clockwise (3:00 o clock) position briefly to relieve a little of the oil from the transmission to the waste oil tank until the correct level on the dipstick is correct. 5. Depending on the colour of the oil in the sight glass, the procedure may have to be repeated 2 or 3 times until the oil colour is similar on both sight glasses. 6. As the old ATF is taken out of the automatic transmission the new fluid enters about 2 litres behind (hose length and merging of fluid) and this can be checked by observing the reservoir litre scale. The old fluid colour will change in the sight glass as the new fluid fills the transmission. When the colour of fluid in both glasses is the same the exchange is complete, it is recommended however that an additional 2-3 litres of new fluid be pumped through the transmission to purge the system of any contaminants. e.g. If the transmission capacity is 11 litres, pump in between

litres of new ATF, and stop the exchange when the waste ATF reservoir indicates a volume of litres. Note: Do not attempt to use solvents of any kind to flush the system between the evacuation of old oil and the introduction of new ATF. Flushing the system with 2 or 3 litres of extra ATF is a more than adequate flush, and in no way invalidates manufacturers warranties. 7. At the end of the exchange check the fluid level in the transmission according to manufacturer s recommendations. If overfilled, excess fluid can be removed as in step 4 above. If under filled fluid can be added as in step 1 above. 8. Reconnect the vehicle back to normal and ensure that there are no oil leaks. To drain waste ATF from the tank in the machine. 1. Make sure that both of the valves are in the upward (12:00 o clock) position and the OIL REFILL switch is off. Now place the RED hose into an external waste oil tank. The Red hose must have the drain hose adaptor fitted otherwise the oil will not flow past the hose coupling valve. 2. Turn the LEFT CONTOL knob clockwise (3:00 o clock) position and turn on the OIL REFILL switch. Make sure that the tap on the RED hose is open during this evacuation procedure and closed before storage. The oil will now evacuate the waste ATF reservoir from the machine. 3. Clean the machine of any spilt fluid, ready for its next service. Be aware that some fluid remains in the lines, so care should be taken in storing the hoses to avoid unnecessary spills. Ensure the waste ATF is correctly stored and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations. 6

Addendum 1). Problems have been experienced with the later model Ford Falcon transmissions. The transmission has been built as a non serviceable unit. The oil can be flushed, but the vehicle has to have the rear wheels raised and the transmission in Drive to gain full line pressure. Only Residual line pressure will be available if flushed while the vehicle is in Park or neutral. 7
