1 Regular Meeting Thursday, April 6 th, 2017 The regular meeting of the Board of County Road Commissioners of Newaygo County was called to order by Chairman Harmon at 8:00 am on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the road commission offices. 6 Public Hearing ~ opened 8:25 a.m. Public Hearing is being held for the following proposed projects: Merrill Parson Ave. north of Pierce Dr. Grub, Grade, and Gravel Garfield Allen St. between M-37 and Mundy Ave. Grub, Grade, Gravel Pave John St. between M-37 and Mundy Ave. Grub, Grade, Gravel Pave Frederick Ave. between M-37 and Mundy Ave. Grub, Grade, Gravel Pave Residents were here for discussions about the upcoming projects. Dale Twing, Newaygo County Drain Commissioner joined the board meeting to request the use of NCRC facilities for the upcoming Hazardous Waste Cleanup that will take place on June 3 rd. Board had no objections. Motion was made by Commissioner Meeuwenberg and supported by Commissioner Gonyon to approve the usage of NCRC facility for the hazardous waste cleanup. Motion carried. Discussions took place regarding the Scrap Tire Grants. Kelly reported that they are working on quote for a new lawnmower. Kelly reported that he is working on temporary grading mits for the Colonial Ave Bridge project. Kelly reported that the Road Commission is taking applications for seasonal employees. Discussions took place on the pay scale. Discussions took place regarding the 2018 Federal Aid Buyout. Motion was made by Commissioner Gonyon and supported by Commissioner Meeuwenberg to give Kelly discretion to explore the possibility of buying of NCRC s 2018 Federal Aid money. Motion carried. Kelly gave the construction update. Kristin reported that the following Resolution #NCRC Resolution of Consent to Amend Plat of Sunset View to Depict the Correction Location of Lakeview Drive needed to be adopted by the Board. Motion was made by Commissioner Meeuwenberg and supported by Commissioner Gonyon to approve Resolution #NCRC Motion carried.
