5 We help: REMIS Health-Centre e.v. Social commitment In 2003, we began our long-term contact with Tengelmann AG and with HCE (Hilfs-Center-Essen Darsilami e.v.) our commitment in Gambia (West Africa). In cooperation with the ISET (The Institute for Solar Energy Supply Technology at the University of Kassel), we have a project to supply the children s dormitory in Darsilami (Gambia) with its own self-sufficient power supply and support it financially, technically and also with personnel on location. At the same time, since 2003 we have been running annual fundraising activities for this and other connected projects in Darsilami. At the centre of our help are the active fundraising activities to guarantee the long-term upkeep of the ward. The association transfers 2000 euros a month of donations to Darsilami. With this money, the staff costs, the clinic management, the nurses and carers, the medication and current purchases can be paid. 5
