3 ERGONOMICS IN DAILY LIFE Where style and design meet health Whether a home, a flat or an RV: individual furnishings promote the feel-good factor. No matter what we re buying, design plays an important part. These days furniture shouldn t just look nice, but should meet ergonomic standards as well. The goal of ergonomics, which is derived from the Greek words ergon (work) and nomos (law), is to find an adjustment of the work and living environment that best meets human needs. Whether at work, asleep, in the kitchen or on vacation ergonomics plays an important role in all aspects of life today. The reason for that sounds as simple as it does obvious: Ergonomically designed everyday objects benefit people in tangible ways, since aspects such as health, convenience and comfort are taken into consideration! For many years, Bürstner has also been working on the development and improvement of ergonomic equipment details in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. FEEL GOOD ALL AROUND The search for a sense of security Home has huge emotional significance for us as humans. How much significance is attested by the results of the representative housing study conducted by the independent market research institute TNS Infratest. According to it, 90 per cent of those surveyed said feeling safe and comfortable at home is important. Further results from the study also show that colour perception and taste in furniture, accessories and cushions change through various stages of life. So it s no wonder that the feel-good factor is extremely important within our own four walls. And anyone who wants to make a stylish, harmonious home with taste will want that in their RV as well. Now, before you grumble about the waste of time to live, start going to bed later or getting up earlier, sleep is not a waste of time! To the contrary, we all need sleep every day in order to recuperate and stay healthy and resilient. Only the number of hours that we spend resting at night differs. While some may feel fit and rested after just six hours of sleep, others need eight to ten hours. But the fundamental rule is that sleeping well is more important than sleeping for a long time. The crucial factor here, along with ease of mind, is the environment in the bedroom. A mattress that fits plus a slatted frame Whether at home or in the RV: you should never compromise when it comes to your mattress. Experts say it should have different zones that are softer in the shoulder and pelvic regions so that the muscles can relax, but the bones are still sufficiently supported. Bürstner s invention, the fold-down bed in the low-profile motorhome, is naturally also included in your Limited Lyseo TD (standard in TD 680 G, option in other layouts). The capacity of the water tank, as specified in Annex V, Part A, para. 2.6., note (h) of Commission Regulation (EU) 1230/2012, is limited to 5, 20 or 50 litres (= running order) depending on the vehicle model and the overflow installed on the water tank (where applicable).
