9 COMPETITIVE COMPARISON 9 Power-to-Weight Comparison While most customers are familiar with using horsepower, torque, towing and payload ratings to compare trucks, it s important to help them understand that the power-to-weight ratio is a smarter measure of performance. Simply dividing engine horsepower or torque by vehicle weight tells you how much torque you have for every pound of vehicle weight. When power increases as it did for some of the 2018 F-150 engines this ratio improves, contributing to better acceleration, handling, towing, manoeuvrability and braking.
