1 Institutional Research and Planning 440 Day Hall Ithaca, New York PULSE Survey The Cornell PULSE (Perceptions of Undergraduate Life and Student Experiences) Survey asks currently enrolled undergraduate students about their involvement in various academic and extracurricular activities, their interactions with faculty and students, and their perceptions of their undergraduate experience. The Cornell PULSE was administered for the first time in February Of the 13,206 undergraduates invited to complete the survey, a total of 6,063 students responded, yielding a 46% response rate. The results of the 2009 Cornell PULSE are displayed in the tables that follow. It may be most useful to refer to the survey instrument first in order to locate questions of interest. Then, the corresponding tables can be found using the bookmarks (by clicking on the bookmark image to the left) or by using the search function within Adobe Acrobat Reader. On the first line of each table, the responses for the applicable question on the survey are presented for Cornell University as a whole. In order to highlight differences within Cornell, frequencies are also presented by gender, race/ethnicity, class year, and undergraduate college.
