2 Day 1 Welcome to Germany Sun, Sept 16th Carl Benz Museum in Historic Ladenburg Picturesque Heidelberg We welcome you to the Frankfurt airport and go south to Ladenburg, a quaint town with roman roots. It is here that Carl Benz, who built the first practical car, spent his later years designing with his sons. We visit the small museum dedicated to him in his old workshop. Then it is on to wonderful Heidelberg, where we visit the fantastic castle overlooking the town. You will have some time to stroll in the old town before check in and a fantastic Welcome Dinner. Included: hotel, all transportation, entrance fees and fares, Welcome Dinner Day 2 Racing Museum and Audi Factory Mon, Sept 17th Racing Museum at the Hockenheim Speedway Medieval town of Bad Wimpfen Audi: Neckarsulm Factory Tour Today s first visit: the Racing Museum at the Hockenheim Speedway, the busiest racetrack in Germany and often home to the German Grand Prix. Then we have a scenic drive through the Neckar river valley to the medieval town of Bad Wimpfen, where we have lunch and explore the old town. In the mid afternoon we arrive in Neckarsulm for a 2-hr tour of the Audi factory, which produces the mid and large size A Series vehicles. After Audi, it is a short drive to our hotel near Stuttgart. 3 Day 3 Mercedes Benz Tue, Sept 18th Mercedes Factory Tour Mercedes Benz Museum Optional Guided Mercedes Test Drive The Mercedes factory in Sindelfingen is our first stop, where we take a 2-hour tour of the plant where the upper-range and luxury-class cars are produced. Then we head north to the Mercedes Benz Museum for lunch and a partially guided tour of the museum, which starts with with early models by both Carl Benz and Gottfried Daimler. Afterwards you have a chance to get to know a Mercedes up close and detailed, with an optional guided test drive. Spouse Tour: Lichtenstein and Hohenzollern Castles Included: hotel with buffet breakfast, all transportation, entrance fees Day 4 Porsche and Langenburg Palace Wed, Sept 19th Porsche Museum Optional Porsche Drive Schloss Langenburg, Car Museum in a Palace We start the day at the snazzy Porsche Museum, a building which won several architectural awards. In the museum we see how Ferdinand Porsche influenced generations of auto designers. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to test drive one or two Porsche models and have lunch at the museum. After that it is on to Schloss Langenburg, a Renaissance palace which also houses the German Auto Museum. We overnight in the fabulous medieval town of Rothenburg, where you can take the famous Night Watchman s tour. 4 Day 5 Rothenburg and the Romantic Road Thu, Sept 20th Medieval Walled Town of Rothenburg The Romantic Road to Munich The morning is for wonderful Rothenburg, the famous walled town where you can walk along the ramparts, stroll the cobblestone lanes, visit the criminal justice museum or shop at the world s most famous Christmas store. We have lunch in Rothenburg before heading out along the Romantic Road south for a short stop in another medieval gem, Dinkelsbühl. We continue along the Romantic Road towards Munich. Included: hotel, buffet breakfast, all transportation Day 6 BMW Fri, Sept 21st BMW Museum BMW Factory Tour BMW Event At BMW today we have guided tours in the BMW World (core innovation in today s models), in the BMW Museum (a special exhibit on the history of future technologies) and in the Munich factory (state of the art engineering). We have lunch in the BMW World, visit the historical part of the museum on our own, and have a extra special session with a BMW Genius, an expert at one of a variety of subjects. Possibilities include alternative fuel technologies, sport tuning and dynamic efficiency. Farewell Dinner tonight. 5 Day 7 Farewells Sat, Sept 22nd Safe Transport to the Airport Sad farewells this morning as we bring you safely to the Munich airport. That is, unless you have opted for the two day Classic Car and Oktoberfest Extension or a Driving Experience.
