AfigureheadineconomicnewsofthepastfouryearshasbeentheUSauto manufacturingindustry,itsdecline,bailoutandsubsequentrevitalization.new autosalesslumped,andautorepairsdidtoo,althoughsomereportswere misleading.initiallyitwasreportedthatautorepairsaleswereup;howeverthat doesn ttellthewholestory.whileitwastruethatmorepeoplewerefixingtheir oldercarsratherthanbuyingnewreplacements,manyofthosepeoplewerealso becomingmuchmorepricesensitivewiththeirregularmaintenanceandneeded repairs.thischangeinmindsetofpreviousandpotentialclientsreallyaffected theautorepairbusiness.thevalueofhavingarelationshipwithatrusted mechanicforthestandardpricewasoftenforegonewhentryingtomakeendsmeet.
