5 INSTALLATION GUIDE Fan performance can be impacted by the distance of the fan to other components. Take the following into account when installing fans. E A D C B Distance to housing Distance on inlet Distance on discharge A & B = minimum of 1.8 x C D = minimum of 0.5 x C E = minimum of 1 x C CALIBRATION LOGIC CALIBRATION FACTORS ( K-FACTOR ) Each fan is fitted with a single inlet nozzle for measuring air flow. Each size of fan was measured and the calibration curves determined. Based on the curves measured the following calibration factors (k-factor) can be used: Wheel diameter k-factor MATHEMATICS The calculation of the volume flow is made according to the following formula: v = k x This relation applies for the density ρ = kg/.
