AT ANY TIME YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE INSTRUCTIONS, PLEASE CALL THE FORD PERFORMANCE TECHLINE AT !!! OVERVIEW: THE USE OF A FLOOR HOIST IS RECOMMENDED FOR THIS INSTALLATION. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ONE, USE A HYDRAULIC FLOOR JACK AND JACK STANDS TO RAISE THE VEHICLE.!!! CAUTION: JACK STANDS MUST BE USED ON A LEVEL SURFACE AND BE SECURELY SEATED. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY OR VEHICLE DAMAGE!!! 2 STEP 2: Spray penetrate on Exhaust coupler bolts. Loosen all Exhaust coupler bolts. (Number 7 in figure below.) 5.8L Techline Page 2 of 9 IS

STEP 10: Install new H-pipe in place (See Fig. 12 & 13). STEP 11: Slide new clamps over front connection and the original rear clamps over pipe (See Fig. 12 & 13). STEP 12: STEP 13: Tighten rear clamp bolts 54 Nm (40 lb-ft). Tighten front clamp bolts 54 Nm (40 lb-ft). Remove LH and RH plastic shields in front of fuel tank from the underside of the vehicle. 5 STEP 14: Add heat shroud tape to rear axle cooler lines, if vehicle is equipped (passenger side in front of rear tire). (See Fig. 14, 15 & 16) NOTE: If necessary adjust rear axle cooler line bracket to clear side exhaust. 6 Side Pipe Installation: STEP 16: NOTICE: Do not bend, twist or allow the exhaust side pipes to hang from the flexible bellows or damage to the exhaust side pipe may occur. Tighten the LH and RH exhaust side pipe bolts. (#2 and #21) Insure that the LH and RH exhaust side pipe grommet assemblies are installed (#1 and #20) Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). STEP 17: NOTE: Install gaskets in the correct position (See exploded view). NOTE: When tightening the side pipe-to-exhaust H-pipe nuts, rotate the side pipe assembly so the pipe after the Torca clamp has a clearance of 10 mm (0.393 in) to 19 mm (0.748 in) to the flat surface of the floor pan. Install gaskets, nuts and the LH and RH exhaust side pipes. Align the exhaust side pipes and tighten the exhaust side pipe-to-exhaust H-pipe nuts to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). STEP 18: NOTE: When tightening the Torca clamp, make sure the flat section of the side pipes has a clearance of 14 mm (0.551 in) to 23 mm (0.905 in) to the floor pan. Tighten the exhaust side pipe Torca clamps. Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft). Techline Page 6 of 9 IS
