This wear may vary depending on operating parameters (temperature, pressure, water condition) and the installation/usage situation and may result in the malfunction or failure at different times of the abovementioned products/components including their electrical/electronic circuitry. 6 Wilo-ASP (5 Hz) Planning Guide Planning instructions for Wilo-ASP pumps: Plinth Mounting of Pumps The correct planning and execution of stable concrete foundations is a deciding factor for the low-noise operation of pumps. To increase the stabilizing mass and to compensate for unbalanced forces it is recommended that there should be a direct and rigid connection between the pump unit and the foundation block. To ensure that no vibration is transmitted to the building structure it is necessary, however, to isolate the foundation block itself from the building structure by means of an elastic isolator. The type and material of the isolating means depends on a number of factors (and areas of responsibility), including pump speed, mass and centre of gravity of the aggregate, the construction of the building (Architect) and the nature of other effects due to the pipeline, etc. (Planner/Installation company). It is highly recommended - in order to cover all aspects of relevant building and acoustical criteria - to employ a qualified acoustics consultant to advise on the planning and execution of equipment foundations. The length and width of the foundation block should be approx 15 up to 2 cm larger in length and width than the outer dimensions of the pump baseplate. Care should be taken in the planning of the baseplate to ensure that there no sound bridges are created due to plaster finishing, tiling of auxiliary construction, which may nullify or severely reduce the isolation. The planner/installation contractor should therefore take care to ensure that the pipe connections to the pumps are executed in such a way that they are completely stress-free, without any mass or vibrational influence on the pump housing. It is recommended that the pipework be firmly anchored at the suction and discharge ports of the pump. On Wilo-ASP pumps the customer needs to align the base plate and the pumps mounted on it with the coupling and the motor following installation. Standard direction of rotation: Clockwise when looking from motor to pump (suction branch on right). Opposite configuration available as an option. Commissioning of the pump by the Wilo Service organisation is recommended.
