10 Building Green & Reducing Noise Pollution Building Green In the last few years, the Build Green movement has ascended into the mainstream of the American building industry. But, at Quaker, it s actually nothing new to us. We re very proud to say that we ve been offering positive, environmentally friendly products for years. Our windows and doors contain many components that are considered green, including glass, aluminum and, in some cases, wood. We re very concerned about our environment, so we re working hard to not only use the right materials, but to implement manufacturing practices that will help make our planet better for all of us. Noise Reduction Whether it s traffic, trains or trucks, or just a loud television, Quaker has a full range of products that can be tailored to meet or exceed OITC (Outdoor / Indoor Transmission Class) or STC (Sound Transmission Class) requirements in high decibel locations. STC ratings range from and OITC ratings range from

11 Options Finishes 10 Standard Colors In the in-house paint facility, electrostatically applied polyester paint is baked-on meeting ANSI/AAMA 2603 specifications. Custom Coatings Quaker accomodates customers with virtually any finish. The most often specified options include: Anodized Anodic coatings provide excellent color saturation with minimal variation. Weather resistant colors are available from clear to black. Duranar With 50% Kynar content, Duranar finishes resist dirt pickup, chalking, fading, and UV degradation. Adhesion, film integrity and flexibility are excellent. Duranar meets or exceeds AAMA 2605 performance specifications. Fluropon Fluropon is a full strength 70% Kynar finish for use in the most demanding environmental conditions. Meets or exceeds ANSI/AAMA specs. Grids Grids, also known as grilles or muntins, can be added to all windows and doors. They can be used to create a unique design or replicate a historical look. Sizes range from 5 /8 to 3 1 /2 in flat, raised or beveled shapes. They can be placed between the glass and/or applied to the glass. Panning & Trim Quaker has the correct panning and trim to make installation easy. Historically accurate styles help preserve the aesthetic charm of old buildings. Panning can be pre-applied to reduce on-site labor and avoid field errors. The design staff at Quaker can help you with special panning for unique installation challenges. The Company Glazing Options Glass thickness: 3 /32, 1 /8, 5 /32, 3 /16, and 1 /4. Overall insulated glazing panel thickness: 3 /8 up to 1. Types: Clear, Low-E, bronze, grey, obscure, reflective and sun glass, mirrored, solar-cooled, Heat Mirror, and other special types.
