Alignment has to be done such that the radial and angular displacement is as small as possible. The service life of coupling and bearings is extended by accurate alignment. Steps must be taken to ensure that the alignment will not change during all operating conditions. Shaft displacement which cannot be avoided must not exceed the figures specified in the table.
