2 Introduction Pumps of the Norma J ( ) Series are horizontal volute casing centrifugal end suction pumps with Back Pull-out feature. Principal dimensions and performance in accordance to DIN EN 733 standard. Norma J ( ) Pumps are used primarily for handling clean or slightly abrasive media. Media pumped should not contain any coarse or highly abrasive solids which will cause operational problems and premature wear. Under such operating conditions special materials will have to be used and other Ritz Series of pumps may be applicable. Details on applications. Application Norma J ( ) Pumps can be used for the following services in the Commercial, Residential, Agricultural, Industrial, Process and Food & Beverage industries. Flange Drilled DIN 2533 PN10 (standard), PN16 (optional) * Flange Face available in both Raised Face (RF) and Flat Face (FF). 2

3 Construction Casing The heavy duty cast iron volute casing is of Robust design with integrally cast feet vertical top centre line discharge with axial suction incorporating cast inlet vane to give best flow to impeller eye. Also available for working pressures up to 16 bar. Centreline discharge assures that the casing is self-venting. Impeller Hydraulically balanced double shrouded type is positively driven by shaft key and axially locked between sleeve and impeller nut. Shaft A domed type locking nut seals the stainless steel at the impeller. Only 4 shafts size is required to cover the complete range of 49 sizes, thus minimising inventory problems. Stuffing Box Standard stuffing box includes gland packing with a lantern ring incorporating high pressure internal flushing. External flushing can be fitted and pump can be supplied with mechanical seal. Bearing I Bearing Housing Bearings are grease lubricated and fitted with grease nipples which allow periodic greasing. Permanently, sealed grease bearings or oil lubricated bearings are also available. Four bearing housings covers the entire range and are of rugged cast iron construction. Interchangeability of the main pump parts. The Norma J ( ) Pump range has been designed on the basis of maximum component interchangeability. Only the impeller and casing, i.e. the hydraulic components designed specifically for each pump type are not interchangeable.
