6 Sizing Performance Overview Maximum oadings Sizing of inear ctuator The following steps are recommended: 1. Calculate the static and the dynamic moments [Nm] created by the load [N], the distance r [m] and the acceleration a [m/s 2 ] in all directions (M, M s and M v ) according to the diagram below. 2. Mae a preliminary choice and get the calculation factors from the table. 3. Chec maximum allowable torque on the drive shaft (pay attention to the note under the table). If the value is lower than required, overview the moving profile or select if possible a bigger unit. 4. efore sizing and specifying the motor, the rms torque must be calculated using the cycle time of the application. 5. Chec that maximum allowable unsupported length is not exceeded (see page 17).
