5 TITLE NAVIGATION - COLLINS FMS-3000 WIDE AREA AUGMENTATION SYSTEM (WAAS) WITH FMS 4.0 SOFTWARE UPDATES EFFECTIVITY REASON MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 525 (CJ1+) thru -0679, thru The equivalent of this service bulletin has been incorporated on production airplanes and and On. NOTE: Airplanes thru must incorporate SB Navigation - V-Speed Enable And Software Upgrade prior to or in conjunction with this service bulletin. A more precise satellite based augmentation system is required to fly LP, LPV, LNAV, and VNAV approaches. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin provides parts and instructions to install WAAS capable components to fly precision approaches. COMPLIANCE OPTIONAL. This service bulletin can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner. A service bulletin published by Cessna Aircraft Company may be recorded as "completed" in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the "Effectivity" section of the bulletin. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. 7 ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" writtenonthem. 2. Contact Citation Customer Care to request a copy of the Rockwell Collins Operator's Guide for the FMS-3000 v4.0 (part number or later) at phone number or customercare@cessna.textron.com. 3. (Refer to Figure 8, Detail A.) Remove two IOC modules and FMC-3000 cards from the IAPS card cage. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins Pro Line 21 Integrated Avionics Processor System - Maintenance Practices.) 4. Remove the GPS-4000A GPS receiver(s). (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins FMS-3000 Flight Management System - Maintenance Practices.) NOTE: Operators: The existing FMC-3000, IOC Module, and GPS-4000S can be modified. Contact the Cessna Service Parts & Programs Repair Team for RMA to schedule your unit at telefax or citationrepair@cessna.textron.com available 8:00 4:30 CST weekdays. Advance notification and coordination is required for Cessna Service Parts & Programs Repair Team to effectively schedule units, ship to supplier, and arrange return. The expected turn time for the supplier supporting this service document is five to seven days. 5. Remove the furnishing from the right side of the airplane. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Headliner and Sidewall Maintenance Practices.) 7. (Airplanes thru -0640) Install the GPS antenna(s). A. Install the left GPS antenna. (1) (Refer to Figure 1, View A-A.) Remove and discard the parts that follow: Four MS24694C54 Screws One GPS Antenna Four S Nutplates One Doubler (2) (Refer to Figure 1, View B-B.) Install the Doubler. Remove five fasteners from the frame. Remove five fasteners from the frame. Match drill 38 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes in the Doubler that align with the holes in the airplane structure. Drill 18 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes in the Doubler and airplane structure. Countersink 18 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes 100 x inch diameter. Match drill four inch-diameter holes in the Doubler that align with the holes in the airplane structure. Match drill eight Number 40 (0.098 inch-diameter) holes in the Doubler that align with the holes in the airplane structure. Remove the Doubler and deburr the drilled holes. Install the Doubler with temporary sheet metal fasteners. (Refer to Figure 1, Detail A.) Make the existing cutout larger. Remove the Doubler and deburr the cutout. Use the color chemical film treatment and corrosion resistant primer to protect all bare material. (Refer to the Model 525 Structural Repair Manual, Chapter 51, Protective Treatment of Metal - Description and Operation.) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to apply a fay seal to the Doubler. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.) Install one Doubler with 28 CM3827AD4-5 Rivets and 28 CM3827AD4-3.5 Rivets. Install four NAS1473A08N Nutplates with eight MS20426AD3-4A Rivets. Install three CM3827AD4-3.5 Rivets wet with Type I Class B2 Sealant to fill the open holes. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.) (3) (Refer to Figure 1, View B-B.) Install one CI Antenna with four MS24693S54 Screws. (4) Make sure that there is a Type I electrical bond between the CI Antenna and the airframe structure. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical Bonding - Maintenance Practices.) (5) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to apply a fillet seal between the antenna and the skin. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.) (6) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to overcoat the nutplates. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.) (7) Use Type V, Class A adhesive to fill the holes in the top of the antenna. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Adhesive and Solvent Bonding - Maintenance Practices.) 9 B. Install the right GPS antenna. (1) (Airplanes that have a teardrop shaped (Garmin) GPS antenna) Install the right GPS antenna. (a) (Refer to Figure 2, View A-A.) Remove and discard the parts that follow: Four MS24694C49 Screws One GPS Antenna Four S Nutplates One Doubler (b) (Refer to Figure 2, View B-B.) Fill eight Number 40 (0.980 inch-diameter) holes and two inch-diameter holes in the skin. 1 Identify the aft inch-diameter holes. 2 Countersink the inner skin 100 x inch-diameter in the skin. 3 Identify eight Number 40 (0.980 inch-diameter) holes in the skin. 4 Countersink the inner skin 100 x inch-diameter. 5 Install two MS20426A6-4N Rivets wet with Type I Class B2 Sealant. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.) 6 Install eight CM3827AD3-3 Rivets wet with Type I Class B2 Sealant. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.) 7 Shave the heads and butts of the installed rivets flush with the skin. Remove four fasteners from the frame. 3 Match drill 31 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes in the Doubler that align with the holes in the airplane structure. 4 Drill 24 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes in the Doubler and airplane structure. 5 Countersink 24 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes 100 x inch diameter. 6 Match drill two inch-diameter holes in the Doubler that align with the holes in the airplane structure. 7 Countersink two inch-diameter holes 100 x inch diameter. 8 Drill four inch-diameter holes in the airplane structure and Doubler for the NAS1473A08N Nutplates. 9 Drill eight Number 40 (0.098 inch-diameter) holes in the airplane structure and Doubler for the NAS1473A08N Nutplates. 10 Countersink eight Number 40 (0.098 inch-diameter) holes 100 x inch diameter. 11 Remove the Doubler and deburr the drilled holes. 12 Install the Doubler with temporary sheet metal fasteners. 13 (Refer to Figure 2, View B-B.) Make the existing cutout larger. 14 Remove the Doubler and deburr the cutout. 15 Use the color chemical film treatment and corrosion resistant primer to protect all bare material. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.) 17 Install one Doubler with two MS20426A6-4N Rivets, 26 CM3827AD4-5 Rivets and 26 CM3827AD4-3.5 Rivets. 18 Shave the head of the MS20426A6-4N Rivets flush with the skin. 19 Install four NAS1473A08N Nutplates with eight MS20426AD3-4A Rivets. (Refer to Figure 2, View B-B.) Install one CI Antenna with four MS24693S54 Screws. Make sure that there is a Type I electrical bond between the CI Antenna and the airframe structure. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical Bonding - Maintenance Practices.) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to apply a fillet seal between the antenna and the skin. (h) Use Type V, Class A adhesive to fill the holes in the top of the antenna. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Adhesive and Solvent Bonding - Maintenance Practices.) (2) (Airplanes that have a rectangular shaped (Rockwell Collins) GPS antenna) Install the right GPS antenna. (a) (Refer to Figure 3, View A-A.) (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.) (6) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to overcoat the nutplates. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.) (7) Use Type V, Class A adhesive to fill the holes in the top of the antenna. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Adhesive and Solvent Bonding - Maintenance Practices.) 10. (Refer to Figure 6.) Install the electrical wiring. A. Add the electrical wiring between the GPS1 (PN700) and the IAPS (PN342). B. Add the electrical wiring between the GPS1 (PN700) and the PN703 connector. C. Add the electrical wiring between the PN703 connector and the NGS505 ground stud. D. (Airplanes that have dual Rockwell Collins FMS) (Refer to Figure 7, Sheet 1 and Sheet 2.) Install the electrical wiring. (1) Add the electrical wiring between the GPS2 (PT700) and the PT702 connector. (2) Add the electrical wiring between the GPS2 (PT700) and the PT703 connector. (3) Add the electrical wiring between the PT703 connector and the TGS503 ground stud. (4) Add the electrical wiring between the PN343 connector and the PB312 connector. (5) Add the electrical wiring between the JB312 connector and the JA305. (6) Add the electrical wiring between the PA305 connector and the JT702. (7) Remove the electrical wiring from 30PN343 and 31PN343 and cap and stow the wires using two TC4001 Capnuts (Refer to Figure 8, Detail A.) Install one IOC Module and one FMC-3000 Computer cards in the IAPS card cage. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins Pro Line 21 Integrated Avionics Processor System - Maintenance Practices.) NOTE: Airplanes with dual FMS will install two FMC-3000 Computers. A. (Refer to Figure 8, Detail A.) Remove two CSU-3100 Configuration Strapping Units from the IAPS card cage. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins Pro Line 21 Integrated Avionics Processor System - Maintenance Practices.) B. (Refer to Figure 8, Detail B.) Remove one OCM-3100 from each CSU-3100 Configuration Strapping Unit. C. (Refer to Figure 8, Detail B.) Install one OCM-3100 on each CSU-3100 Configuration Strapping Units. D. (Refer to Figure 8, Detail A.) Install two CSU-3100 Configuration Strapping Units in the IAPS card cage. 14 14. Do the Collins FMS-3000 flight management system functional test. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins FMS-3000 Flight Management System - Adjustment/Test.) 15. Pressurize the airplane to check for leaks around the installed antenna(s). (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, 21, Pressurization Control - Adjustment/Test.) 16. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification - Description and Operation.) 17. Install the headliner and sidewalls. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Headliner and Sidewall Maintenance Practices.) 18. Install the furnishing that were removed to install this modification. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Model 525 Maintenance Manual and Interior Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog.) 19. Update the CJ1+ FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual (525FMB). NOTE: Look at the configuration codes listed in the applicable supplement and/or in Section 1 of the FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual to make sure all changed crew procedures or limitations are complied with. A. Make sure that Supplement 22, Revision 4 or later is inserted into the CJ1+ FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual (525FMB). 20. Make sure the flight crew receives the Flight Crew Operations Summary, which shows the operational changes that are a result of the accomplishment of this service bulletin. 21. (Owners/Operators) Go to the Rockwell Collins website and update your subscriptions for the FMS group from J6 to J Record that this service bulletin has been completed. A.
