Handling of Toughened Glass Carry one panel at a time. Never place the glass down onto rough surfaces. Wear suitable hand protection. Storage of Toughened Glass Avoid glass to glass or glass to metal contact. A suitable protection should be used. Glass should be stored upright on the edge, never flat on top of each other. Protection should be sought from any inclement weather. Glass should be covered whilst on site to avoid damage from other works. THE MOST VULNERABLE PART OF ANY TOUGHENED GLASS IS THE EDGE. IF THE PANEL IS KNOCKED OR DAMAGED ON THE EDGE THE PANEL WILL BREAK INTO SMALL PIECES. GLASS SHOULD NEVER BE USED IF ANY OF THE EDGES HAVE BEEN DAMAGED AS THIS WILL CREATE A WEAKNESS AND COULD CAUSE THE PANEL TO SPONTANEOUSLY BREAK.
