2 TERMINOLOGIES & EXPLANATIONS TJM XGS has introduced a selection of high quality leaf springs for a number of vehicles. These springs include clip liners, slipper pads, and are spear cut with tapered ends and full military wrap (where fitment permits) These springs have been researched, developed and undergone extensive testing. Note: Some vehicle application have a different drivers & passenger side spring, this is to compensate for uneven vehicle weight distribution, weight of the driver or to compensate for any manufacturers chassis issues. As a guide the drivers side spring will be taller in free camber. Always measure the vehicle vertically from the centre of wheel/hub to guard at ride height before removing old springs. GVM - Gross Mass This is set by the vehicle manufacturer, the GVM of a vehicle is determined by wheel, tyre, axle, differential, emissions and suspension specifications. Exceeding GVM ratings can have legal and safety implications and is not recommended unless an approved DOTARS GVM upgrade kit has been fitted. are sometimes labelled (DS) drivers side & (PS) passengers side. These springs are individually designed to counteract uneven weight distribution in certain vehicles. As a guide the drivers side spring will be taller in free camber although this is not always the case. Always measure vehicle before removing old springs. Castor Correction Castor correction kits are required to correct castor alignments to induce positive castor after a raised suspension kit has been installed. consist of 4 eccentric bushes to fit the front trailing arms in.5 degree & 3.5 degree. A wheel alignment is required whenever any adjustment has been done to a vehicles suspension. LBA - Load Bearing Accessories Load Bearing Accessories are "add ons" fitted to the vehicle that attract additional weight (ie bullbars, sidebars, winches tyre carriers, roof racks, additional fuel or water tanks etc). These accessories may affect a vehicles load carrying capacity, ride and handling and should be considered when deciding on the appropriate suspension package. OE - Original Equipment As supplied by the manufacturer of the vehicle. Trim Packers In both steel (for leaf springs) & polyurethane (for coil springs) are designed to alleviate vehicle lean and in most cases will raise the vehicle, with the exception of a underslung leaf spring design. Stone Guards, Dust Boots & Strengthening Brackets In certain applications these are a requirement, failure to do so may void warranty. Installation Forms It is a warranty requirement that a TJM XGS Installation Form (p/n 66INSTALL) be completed for every suspension installation. All areas pertaining to the vehicle and suspension products fitted are to be filled out correctly and relevant copies forwarded. Failure to do this may void warranty. Determining Specifications For Height & Load Carrying Capacity TERMINOLOGIES & EXPLANATIONS The most important things to remember when determining vehicle specific suspension is:

Spring Lowered Raised Raised Heavy Duty Extra Heavy Duty Spring Description Lowered approx 0 to 0mm from standard also has an increased spring rate, these will generally be sold in a complete SUV kit. Raised leaf springs are similar to OE spring rate. Raised coil springs have generally 0-30% more spring rate than OE.
