Gunnebo Industrier was founded in Originally it manufactured nails, belts, bolts and iron for the shipbuilding industry. By the 1850s screws and chains were added to Gunnebo s range of products. The company s operations gradually expanded to include lifting devices and with the spread of motor vehicles, traction chains as well. Today Gunnebo Industrier has a turnover of approximately 200 million euros and has operations in fifteen countries. Manufacturing is mainly based in the Nordic countries and the USA. Gunnebo Industrier s traction system division develops, produces and markets traction chains and tracks. Traction chains are made in Finland, while components are manufactured in Norway and Sweden. Tracks are produced in Scotland under the trade name of Clark Tracks. Gunnebo Industries is a world leader in the manufacturing of traction chains and tracks for forestry machines, tractors and trucks that are required to operate under the most extreme and demanding conditions.

Our traction chains come in two colours, blue and grey CONNECTING The ends of Megastud, Superstud and Supergrip are connected with plug couplings. BUTT WELDED U-STUDS The butt welded U-stud is one of our hallmarks at Gunnebo Industrier. It is heavy-duty (19 mm on 16 mm chains and 16 mm on 13 mm chains) and provides a wide ground contact area. THE RING BRINGS STABILITY Most of our forestry chains have a diamond pattern made of three links with extra strong rings connecting them. As the ring is always thicker than the chain (19 mm ring for 16 mm chain and 16 mm ring for 13 mm chain), the 3-link offers extra stability preventing twisting and making sure the stud is kept in place. SIDE PROTECTION The smaller lateral mesh of the TS-chain provides extra side protection making it suitable for machines working in rough, stony terrain. If you are looking for maximum protection for your tyres, Superstud 130TS and Supergrip 130TS are your best choices. SCREW COUPLING As an alternative to the plug coupling, we can now offer screw couplings in sizes 13 and 16. The screw coupling has an Allen screw that locks the link. NEW

Simply a mega good solution! MEGASTUD 160TS Gunnebo Megastud provides an extremely good grip due to double 19 mm butt welded U-studs. It offers very good protection against sharp rocks and stumps thanks to the small pitch of the pattern and the additional chain on the tyre sidewalls. Tension chain is standard. 7 7 HEAVY CHAINS FOR HEAVY MACHINES. Gunnebo Industries manufactures forestry chains that have a variety of link diameters, from 9 to 16 mm. Generally speaking, the heavier a machine is and the bigger the wheel is, the thicker chains should be. A heavier chain offers longer working life and a superior grip. Superstud 130TS has many U-studs and extra chain on the side of the tyres, giving a good grip and maximum protection. Tension chain is standard. Superstud 130 has a tight pattern on the tyre and U-studs, providing good traction. Weight is kept low owing to the open sides, that also prevent mud clogging. This is a chain without studs, but extra chain on the sides offers good tyre protection. Tension chain is standard.

8 8 SKOGSGRIP Due to the open pattern Skogsgrip chains prevent mud clogging. At the same time, they are easy to put on and remove. The chain has a square shaped pattern that fits all tyre sizes. EASY TO PUT ON AND TAKE OFF Skogsgrip is easy to fit. When the ends meet on the tyre, the links from one end are pulled through to the other end where they are connected to the side chains with shackles. SKOGSGRIP 130 SKOGSGRIP 160 Skogsgrip is made of 13 mm chain and 16 mm studs. The pattern of the chain is adjusted to suit the width of the tyre. Skogsgrip 160 is made of 16 mm chain and 19 mm U-studs and rings. The chain has a diamond shaped pattern.

THE LIGHTER, THE FASTER If the chains are to be used for fast driving, they have to have a low weight to be durable but at the same time be strong. Gunntrac meets these requirements. 9 AND 11 MILLIMETRE Piggelin Flex comes in two sizes on the cross chain, 9 and 11 mm. The smaller link is mainly used for narrow tyres or if the chain is used extensively for haulage. PIGGELIN FLEX Piggelin Flex is one of the biggest selling traction chains in Europe for tractors, lighter forest machines and construction machines. The wear chain is made of 9 or 11 mm twisted chain with studs on each link, giving a superb grip. The chain is easy to fit. SR-FLEX SR-Flex is the market leader in non-studded chains for tractors and construction machines. The wear chain is made of 9 mm, D-shaped SR links that, due to its shape gives good grip. SR-Flex gives vibration free driving and is easy to put on and take off. Another feature is that the chain is reversible, thus giving a longer working life. GUNNTRAC 5 Gunntrac is a lightweight chain suitable for tractors and construction machines that are used for driving on tarmac roads. The chain has 5 mm D-shaped SR links with grip steel, is easy to fit and gives a quite and vibration free driving.

NEW ZIGZAG PATTERN FOR ALL-ROUND USAGE Truck chains with zigzag pattern have many benefits. They offer excellent grip in both length and sideways and the chain is also suitable for front and rear wheels. The design of the chain means that the strain is spread over the whole chain. GRIP SR-A8 GRIP SR-Z8 GRIP +Z8 GRIP SR5 Grip SR-A8 is suitable for both rough terrains and driving on roads. It is an 8 mm thick chain, giving good stability and a vibration-free drive. 11 11 THREE KINDS OF CHAINS Gunnebo Industries range of truck chains consists of three types of wear chains. One is a studded, twisted 8 mm SV chain, which has links with two standing studs; the second and third type is SR chain without studs and these are available in 5 and 8 mm. The SR5 chain has extra wear steel. HIGH QUALITY TARMAC CHAINS Because of its low weight, the SR5 chain is a good choice when driving in slippery conditions at high speed. 14 14 MANUFACTURING Nordic traditions create unique qualities. Gunnebo Industrier AB is one of the world s largest manufacturer of traction chains for forestry machines and tractors. The main factory is located near Åbo in Finland. The components are manufactured at three locations in Scandinavia. Gunnebo Industrier s traction chains are made of a specially developed Nordic micro alloy case hardened boron steel in diameters up to 19 mm. After cleaning process, the material is bent into chains in link machines and is then passed to the link welder. The link joint is heated electrically and is then pressed together under high pressure. If the links are to get studs, the same welding method is used the parts are heated and pressed together, resulting in an extremely strong weld joint. Based on individual design specifications, the chains are cut, assembled and welded to the required type and size. Finally, the chains are case hardened for several hours at 900 degrees C in special controlled ovens. During this process, extra carbon atoms are added which results in a chain surface that is extremely hard and durable. extremely hard and durable
