9 HISTORY A CENTURY OF COMMITMENT 135 Year Family Tradition In the early days it was as simple as repairing wagons, shoeing horses and performing simple blacksmithing tasks in and around the small community of Wamego, Kansas. As times evolved so did machines and so did we. But one thing remained the same - our family tradition of providing the highest quality, best engineered solutions to meet our customers needs. In the 1930s and 1940s we began building snow plows and dozer blades and supplied hundreds of blades to the Korean War in the 1950s. Our blades helped construct the Interstate highway system and by the 1960s we pioneered the use of large oversize U-blades for use on coal piles at coal fired power plants. In the 1970s we produced the Guiness book of world record holder known as the Double Dude that was used for early reclamation studies and was pushed by two of the largest dozers offered at the time. 17 SUCCESS STORIES SAND AND GRAVEL LOADING OPERATIONS It was taking 3 passes with a conventional general purpose bucket to load sand in this Northern Florida operation. Dymax was contacted to determine if a bucket could be developed that would only require 2 passes to load the truck. Soon after a new generation of Sand and Gravel Buckets for loaders was born that featured larger capacity, stronger steel construction and an easy-load floor. The customer was quickly able to load trucks in 2 passes and filling the bucket has never been quite so easy. OIL FIELD/PIPE LINE BLADE - INSIDE DOZER Contacted by a dealer in the midwest, Dymax developed a new and improved inside mounted dozer blade for oil field/pipeline applications. These dozer blades are extremely popular as they are underwidth and can be used for multiple jobs from dozing slots to being used as a machine anchor when needing to pull sleds and equipment with rear mounted winches. Each model features a full width top clamp and stabilizer arms that work in sequence. Once the clamp is closed and pressure builds the stabilizer clamp closes on to the material and provides a strong, firm grip.
