47 Advantage of Super II Greater Strength The innovated centre placement of the load carrying cord provides better belt balance and greater strength than wrapped construction. Stronger cords makes it more resistant to stretching. Longer Life Developed for severe drives and will out perform conventional wrapped belts on normal applications Tests show the Super 11 belt last far longer than conventional wrapped belts on the toughest of applications Better Heat Dissipation Neoprene rubber only found previously in higher priced v-belts dissipates heat more easily. The lower cord placement allows the belts to run cooler with less internal generated heat (hysteresis).

54 V-Belt Maintenance V-belts should be given a run in period of hours to allow the belts to seat in the pulley grooves and spread power evenly across the drive Tensioning should be set at maximum level when new and adjusted if necessary after run in period. Pulley wear and misalignment should be checked upon belt installation.

All must meet a standard and the most common standards are RMA & ISO. Common Matching Names Chek-Mate, V80, S=Cplus, Matchmaker, Matchfree, etc.

56 V-Belt Matching Prior to the early 1980 s manufacturers used a complex numbering system (48, 49, 50, 51, 52, etc) 50 was the ideal length for that particularly belt size Numbers less than 50 were shorter and number greater than 50 were longer.
