2 2 Analysis Montréal CMA: Slight Decrease in and Slight Increase in Prices in 2014 In 2014, a total of 35,764 residential sales were concluded through a real estate broker in the Montréal Census Metropolitan Area (CMA). This represents a 2 per cent decrease compared to 2013 and the fourth consecutive annual drop in sales. Geographically, all five of the CMA s main areas registered a decrease in sales in 2014: sales fell by 1 per cent on the Island of Montréal, in Laval and in Vaudreuil-Soulanges, by 3 per cent on the North Shore and by 4 per cent on the South Shore. conditions continued to relax in 2014, giving buyers even more negotiating power and further strengthening the advantage they already had on the condominium market.
