Castelldefels, just south of Barcelona, is our gateway to the Pyrenees, a mountain range that forms a natural border between Spain and France. It features many peaks of 10,000 ft. or more, lots of remote wilderness and many miles of fantastic motorcycling roads. Right after leaving the coast we get to see the famous abbey of Montserrat, a 1,000-year-old monastery. Further inland, more history-laden places such as Cardona and La Seu d Urgell are on our way before we enter the micro-nation and shopping paradise of Andorra. Then we arrive in France, where we spend our rest day in the stunning town of Carcassonne, delightfully enclosed by medieval walls and lined with picturesque alleys. Of course you can also spend your day riding your bike, the roads on the French side of the Pyrenees are just as stunning as on the Spanish side. Back in Spain we continue on this festival of corners, curves and twisties until the mountains slowly give way to the coastal plains. Between Sant Feliu and Lloret de Mar, one of Europe s greatest coastal roads sweetens our last day and bids us farewell. Man, what a tour!
