1 2015 Model Information MODEL NAME: Ultra LX MODEL CODE: JT1500KFF LUXURY AND ANDLING PERFORMANCE OF TE ULTRA 300LX + RESPONSIVE, FUEL EFFICIENT 160 PS ENGINE Combining the hull from the ULTRA 300LX and a responsive 160 PS engine with good fuel economy gives the new ULTRA LX an appealing blend of sporty and comfortable performance. The new hull offers excellent handing in both rough and calm water conditions. Equipped with the Luxury seat and a number of other flagship features, the ULTRA LX ensures its passengers travel in the luxury and comfort befitting the LX name. ANDLING & TURNING PERFORMANCE The new ULTRA LX comes equipped with the high-performance hull of the ULTRA 300LX. Loaded with technology from Kawasaki s championship winning machines, the race-developed hull handles with precision and stability, with a high level of seaworthiness. In addition to contributing to the LX s improved handling in both rough and calm water, the idealised strength balance helps realise a much lighter package. A revised steering nozzle also contributes to the much lighter handling.

2 Lightweight ull Deep-V hull design enables a high bank angle with motorcycle-like turning performance. This reduces the lateral G-loads imposed on riders during turns, allowing them to better concentrate on riding. Measuring 22.5, the idealised V-angle at the bottom of the hull helps prevent spin outs during sharp turns. As a result, the ULTRA LX delivers the neutral handling and turning characteristics for which Kawasaki JET SKI watercraft are famous. Feedback from Kawasaki s numerous IJSBA championship winning racing machines contributed to a hull that offers high stability and responsive handling in both calm and choppy-water conditions. The new hull offers an idealised strength balance and significant weight reduction. 19 kg lighter than its predecessor, curb mass is now a trim 423 kg. Shorter Steering Nozzle Shorter (by 20 mm), slimmer (ø91 mm >> ø88 mm) steering nozzle reduces steering load for much lighter handling. Bond Flange & Bumper The bottom of the hull slants upwards steeply from the centre section to the bow, allowing the ULTRA LX to penetrate swells and waves with less shock, particularly when moving at low speeds. The result is improved comfort and high stability. Quattro KSD Ridges across the bottom of the bow, Kawasaki Splash Deflectors deflect water splashing forward from under the hull. The fourth splash deflector mounted at the top reduces spray during high-speed turns. Whether turning or blasting straight ahead, at high speeds or low, the Quattro KSD minimises spray, enhancing ride comfort. Ride Plate A groove running from the centre to the rear of the ride plate makes it easier to hold a straight course when running straight ahead. Sponsons & Side Bumper Fins Sponsons extending from the hull and fins along the underside of the side bumpers provide stable straight-line performance (e.g. porpoising from start is minimised, etc) while helping to retain the machine s narrow overall design. They also contribute significantly to the ULTRA LX s high manoeuvrability when changing direction (particularly at higher speeds). SUPER RESPONSIVE ENGINE Kicking out an impressive 160 PS at 7,500 rpm, the liquid-cooled, 1,498 cm3 In-line 4-cylinder Ninja supersport-based engine delivers the responsive performance that sport riders love. In spite of its high performance, this ultra-low emissions PWC easily clears the stringent CARB regulations. Engine strengthening items borrowed from the powerful ULTRA 300X ensure high durability and reliability. Marine 1,498 cc In-line Four Engine Bore and stroke measure 83.0 x 69.2 mm. igh-flow fuel injectors with 4 orifices complement the engine s substantial output and contribute to combustion efficiency. Single throttle body with a bore diameter of ø60 mm is used. Stronger connecting rod bolts from the ULTRA 300X engine offer increased reliability. Crankcase is reinforced, also contributing to the highly durable and reliable engine. Bearing inserts for the crankshaft main journal and connecting rod big ends were revised for increased durability. Revised ECU settings contribute to cleaner exhaust emissions. A

3 Propulsion (Jet Pump / Impeller) A large-diameter ø155 mm jet pump efficiently converts the ULTRA LX s output into thrust. Developed based on feedback from Kawasaki s race machines, this pump was specially designed to deliver incredible acceleration, stable output and good bite, even when riding in rough water. A large impeller, featuring a sophisticated 3-blade design, delivers both high performance and quiet operation. Using another trick borrowed from the ULTRA 300X engine, the jet pump drive shaft is supported using double bearings. A new shaft nut holds the shaft in place, preventing any forward movement. The result is increased reliability as well as greater durability. LUXURY AND COMFORT PERFORMANCE Along with the new hull, the ULTRA LX gets aggressive new styling and all-digital instrumentation just like our flagship PWCs. To match its high-class looks, a number of flagship features offer a high level of quality and comfort. For instance, the 5-way adjustable steering handle suits a variety of riding styles and rider sizes, and makes sport riding possible while either standing or sitting. For more leisure-oriented families, the LXuryseat is designed for all-day comfort, with plenty of room for three. And there s plenty of built-in storage capacity for recreational gear. The 78-litre fuel tank is also one of the largest in the industry, making the ULTRA LX a superb all-day touring partner. Powerful, Aggressive Styling The ULTRA LX gets more aggressive styling care of a redesigned front face with more edged contours. Intake-style design at the bow contributes to the powerful, aggressive image. Front hatch has a flatter design, conveying an image of speed. All-digital Instrumentation (2) New all-digital instrumentation makes use of a single, highly legible LCD screen. Instrumentation includes two new functions: external water temperature and air temperature. Clock, Time, Trip, our Meter, Tachometer (digital display or bar graph), Speedometer, Max Speed functions are available as before. Instrument panel position and cockpit visor design were designed for high visibility. Kawasaki Smart Steering / SLO-Mode The Kawasaki Smart Steering (KSS) supplementary steering system is designed to assist new riders as they learn turning and manoeuvring of a personal watercraft. Experienced users may not even notice the system at all. Smart Learning Operation (SLO)-Mode function allows newer riders to become familiar with the handling and response of this JET SKI watercraft at a more relaxed pace before operating the Ultra LX at full power. Two separate keys (one for SLO-mode, one for full-power operation) prevent operating mistakes. 5-way Adjustable andle True to its racing roots, the ULTRA LX includes a 5-way adjustable handle that suits a wide range of riders and riding styles, allowing either stand-up or sit-down riding. Riding Position and Ergonomics Sturdy hull has very stable handling characteristics for comfortable all-day touring. The ULTRA LX is equipped with the Luxury seat, a scalloped seat designed for enhanced cruising comfort. Contoured for a good ergonomic fit, the LXuryseat offers ultra-comfortable accommodation for three. The seat s steps can be compressed from above when sat upon, allowing riders to shift rearward during strong acceleration. In rough conditions, riders can sit on the steps, allowing the thick, impact-absorbing padding to do the work otherwise left to thigh muscles.

4 The reverse lever, located on the left side for easy operation, features a new ergonomic design (for both the lever itself and the lock-release button) and offers much lighter operation. Lock mechanism for the front hatch was also redesigned, now requiring much less effort to operate. Plenty of Storage The ULTRA LX offers a total storage capacity of 212 litres. The large-capacity, fully sealed 206-litre storage area has plenty of room for recreational equipment. A detachable storage compartment is also fitted. Mounted on the centre console is a detachable drink holder with space for two drink bottles. Integral with the under-seat rear grip is a compact storage area ideal for tools and other small items. Engine Small power adjustments are easy with the well-designed throttle lever. Even during extended operation the rider s finger does not get tired easily. Immobiliser function incorporated into the ignition switch helps prevent theft. Works with both keys (fullpower and SLO-mode versions). ull The ULTRA LX features a silent cleaning system to purge seawater used to cool the engine. Mounted on the right side cover it is easily accessed when the hatch is opened. Because operation can be done with the seat still fitted, it is virtually noiseless. Fitting a separate connecting tube is quick and easy. A long rear boarding step makes it easy to climb on board, and the step retracts inside the bumper to prevent damage. Mirrors are mounted to the upper deck to facilitate opening of the hatch cover. The speed sensor was relocated from the transom to the pump cover, offering improved accuracy.
