We are grateful for the belief you have invested in us as a result of buying this machine. It is important to read the operating instructions very carefully before you start operating the machine so that the Rotary swather may be used to its maximum capacity. The contents of this manual are laid out in such a way that you should be able to perform any task by following the instructions step by step. It contains extensive notes and information about maintenance, about how to use the machine safely, about secure working methods, special precautionary measures and the accessories which are available. It is essential, important and useful for the operational safety, reliability and durability of the Disc mowe that these notes and information are adhered to. The instruction manual is an integral part of your machine. Only operate this machine after you have been trained to do so and according to these instructions. It is essential to observe the safety instructions! It is also necessary to observe the relevant accident prevention regulations and other generally recognised regulations concerning safety, occupational health and road traffic. 7 General Information The operating manual contains basic instructions to be observed when attaching, operating and doing maintance work. Therefore it is imperative that the operating personnel have access to and read this operating manual before putting into operation and using the implement..2.3 Identification General Information The machine data are listed on the identification plate. 8 General Information.2.5 Proper Use The Swadro rotary windrower is designed exclusively for usual applications during agricultural work (proper use). Any further use is considered to be improper use. The manufacturer is not liable for any damage resulting from such use. Such use is solely at the operator's risk. Part of the proper use is the adherence to the operating, maintenance and repair instructions specified by the manufacturer..2.6 General Specifications Driving on roads is only permissible with the swath arms in the transport position. Identifying Safety Instructions in the Operating Manual The safety instructions contained in this manual, which could result in personal injury if not followed, are identified by the general danger sign: safety sign in accordance with DIN W9 General function instructions are indicated as follows: Safety Failure to follow the safety instructions could, for example, result in the following hazards: risk to persons by failure to secure the working area breakdown of important machine functions failure of prescribed methods for repair and maintenance risk to persons due to mechanical and chemical effects damage to the environment due to leaking hydraulic oil Working in a Safety Conscious Manner Follow the safety instructions included in this operating manual, existing accident prevention rules and any internal work, operating and safety rules set out by the operator. The safety and accident prevention regulations of the responsible professional associations are binding. Instructions which are attached to the machine need to be followed and kept fully legible. 2.2 Safety Instructions and Accident Prevention Regulations 2.2. Personnel Qualification and Training The rotary swather must only be used, maintained and repaired by personnel who are acquainted with the machine and have been informed of the dangers involved. The operator must precisely define the areas of responsibility and competence and monitor the personnel. Should personnel lack the required know-ledge they must receive the required training and instruction. The operator must also ensure that the contents of this operating manual have been fully understood by the personnel. Repair work not described in this operating manual should be completed by authorized service centers only Failure to Follow the Safety Instructions Failure to follow the safety instructions could result in personal injury and environmental hazards as well as damage to the machine. Failure to follow the safety instructions could result in the forfeiture of any claims for damages. Observe the safety instructions provided by the vehicle manufacturer. Observe the applicable traffic laws when using public roads (for example, in Germany, the Road Traffic Type Approval Law and Road Traffic Law). 2.3 Safety Instructions and Accident Prevention Regulations. Please follow all generally applicable safety and accident prevention regulations in addition to the safety instructions contained in this manual! 2. The attached warning and safety signs provide important information for safe operation. Pay attention to these for your own safety! 3. When using public roads, make sure to observe the applicable traffic regulations! 4. Make sure that you are familiar with all equipment and controls as well as their functions before you begin working with the machine. It is too late to learn this when you are operating the machine! 5. The user should wear tight fitting clothes. Avoid wearing loose or baggy clothing. 6. Keep the machine clean to prevent danger of fire! 7. Before starting or moving the machine, make certain that nobody is in the vicinity of the machine! (Watch for children!) Make sure that you have a clear view! II -
10 Safety 8. Carrying passengers during operation and transport on the working implement is not permitted. 9. Attach implements correctly! Attach and secure implements to specified devices only! 0. When attaching or removing implements, place the supporting devices in the correct positions!. Use extreme caution when attaching or detaching implements onto or from the tractor! 2. Always attach ballast weights properly to the fixing points provided! 3. Observe permitted axle loads, gross weight and transport dimensions! 4. Check and attach transport equipment such as lighting, warning devices and any protective equipment! 5. Actuating mechanisms (cables, chains, linkages etc.) for remote controlled devices must be positioned in such a way that no movements are unintentionally triggered at any transport or working positions. 6. Ensure that implements are in the prescribed condition for on-road travel and lock them in place according to the manufacturer's instructions! 7. Never leave the driver's seat when the vehicle is moving! 8. Always drive at the correct speed for the pre-vailing driving conditions! Avoid sudden changes in direction when travelling uphill or downhill or across a gradient! 9. Attached implements and ballast weights affect the driving, steering and braking response of the machine. Make sure that you are able to brake and steer the machine as required! 20. Take into account the extension radius and/or inertia of an implement when turning corners! 2. Start up implements only when all protective devices have been attached and set in the required position! 22. Keep clear of the working range of the machine at all times! 23. Do not stand within the turning and slewing range of the implement! 24. Never operate the hydraulic folding frames if anyone is inside the slewing range! 25. Parts operated by external power (e.g. hydraulics) can cause crushing and shearing injuries! 26. Before leaving the tractor, lower the implement onto the ground, switch off the engine and remove the ignition key! 27. No one should stand between the tractor and the implement unless the vehicle has been secured against rolling with the handbrake and/or wheel chocks! 2.3. Mounted implements. Before mounting implements on/from the three-point linkage, all controls have to be positioned in such a way that any unintentional lifting or lowering of the machine is impossible. 2. In case of three-point mounted implements it is essential that the hitch category of the implement matches that of the tractor. 3. The three-point linkage includes shearing and pinching areas. 4. When operating the outer controls of the three-point linkage do not step between tractor and implement. 5. When the implement is in transport position assure at all times a sufficient lateral limitation of the tractor three-point linkage. 6. When travelling on public roads with implement raised make sure the control lever is secured against lowering Power Take-Off Operation. Use only PTO shafts specified by the manufacturer! 2. The guard tube and guard cone of the PTO and the PTO guard must be attached and in good working condition (on the implement side, too)! 3. Make sure that the required tube covers are in place for PTO shafts in transport and working position! 4. Before installing or removing PTO shafts, disengage the PTO, switch off the engine and remove the ignition key! 5. When using PTO shafts with an overload safety or free-running coupling which are not shielded by the guard on the tractor, mount the overload safety or free-running coupling on the implement side! 6. Always make sure that the PTO shaft is properly installed and secured! 7. Attach chains to prevent the PTO shaft guard from rotating with the shaft! II - 2
11 8. Before engaging the PTO shaft, make sure that the selected PTO shaft speed of the tractor matches the permissible implement speed! 9. Before engaging the PTO shaft, make sure that no one is in the hazard area around the implement! 0. Never engage the PTO shaft if the engine is switched off!. No one should be in the vicinity of the rotating PTO shaft when it is in use. 2. Always switch off PTO shaft when the angle is too large or the PTO shaft is not required! 3. Caution! The flywheel will continue to rotate for some time even after the PTO shaft has been disengaged! Keep clear of the implement during this time. Do not do any work on the implement until the machine has come to a complete stand-still and the flywheel has been secured using the hand brake. 4. Disengage the PTO shaft, stop the engine and remove the ignition key before cleaning, lubricating and adjusting the PTO shaft driven implements or the PTO shaft! Secure the flywheel with the hand brake. 5. Place the disconnected PTO shaft onto the bracket provided! 6. After removing the PTO shaft, attach the protective cover to the PTO shaft end! 7. If damage occurs, correct this immediately before using the implement! Hydraulic System. The hydraulic system is pressurized! 2. When connecting hydraulic cylinders and engines, make sure that the hydraulic hoses are connected correctly! 3. When connecting the hydraulic hoses to the tractor hydraulics, make sure that the hydraulics of both the tractor and the implement have been depressurized! 4. In the case of hydraulic connections between tractor and implement the coupling sleeves and plugs should be marked to ensure a proper connection! If the connections are switched, the function will be reversed (e.g. raising/ lowering) - danger of accidents! 5. Check the hydraulic hose lines at regular intervals and replace them if damaged or worn! The new hoses must fulfill the technical requirements set by the manufacturer of the implement! 6. When searching for leaks, use suitable aids to avoid the risk of injuries! 7. Liquids escaping under high pressure (hydraulic oil) can penetrate the skin and cause serious injury! Seek medical help immediately should injuries occur! Risk of infection! 8. Before working on the hydraulic system, lower the implement, depressurize the system and switch off the engine! Tyres Safety. When working on the tyres, make sure that the implement has been safely lowered and secured against rolling (wheel chocks). 2. Installing wheels and tyres requires adequate knowledge and suitable tools! 3. Repair work on the tyres and wheels should be done by specially trained personnel using appropriate installation tools only! 4. Check tyre pressure regularly! Inflate the tyres to the recommended pressures! Maintenance. Repair, maintenance and cleaning work as well as the rectification of malfunctions may only ever be carried out when the drive is switched off and the engine is at a standstill! - Remove the ignition key! Pull the parking brake for the balancing weight. 2. Regularly check that nuts and bolts are properly seated and tighten if necessary! 3. When doing maintenance work to a raised implement, always use suitable means to secure it against falling. 4. When replacing working tools with cutting edges, use suitable tools and gloves! 5. Dispose of oils, greases and filters according to regulations! 6. Always disconnect the power supply before working on the electrical system! 7. If protective devices and guards are subject to wear, check them regularly and replace them in good time! 8. When doing electrical welding on the tractor and attached implements, disconnect the alternator and battery cables! 9. Replacement parts must at least comply with the technical requirements set by the manufacturer of the implements! This is guaranteed when using genuine KRONE replacement parts! 0. Only use nitrogen for filling pneumatic accumulators - Risk of explosion! II - 3
12 Safety 2.4 Introduction The KRONE rotary swather is equipped with all necessary safety devices (protective equipment). Not all potentially dangerous positions on this implement can be fully secured, as this would be incompatible with full functional capability. You will find appropriate danger notification (= warning signs in yellow/black), indicating these residual risks. The safety instructions are provided in the form of so-called warning pictograms. Important information on the location of these safety signs and what they mean is given below! Familiarize yourself with the meaning of the warning signs opposite. 15 Operating preparations 3 Operating preparations 3. Special safety instructions Basic rule for service, maintenance, repair and assembly work on the rotary swather - switch off the PTO shaft. Switch off the engine and remove the ignition key. Secure the tractor and rotary swather from rolling away! The maximum drive speed is 540 rpm. Actuating components such as ropes and cords; and hydraulic hoses and cable connections should be laid in such a way that they cannot be activated unintentionally or come into contact with the tractor wheels! Danger of accidents! No-one should be standing between the tractor and the rotary swather during raising or lowering operations. Great risk of injury! Before switching on the PTO shaft, ensure that no-one is standing in the danger area of the rotary swather. Danger of accidents! Make sure that the protective devices are correctly fitted during operation and when travelling on public roads! Attach the lights and check that they are functioning correctly. The operator must not leave the tractor during operation! Before connecting or disconnecting implements to and from the three-point linkage, position the controls in such a way that any unintentional raising or lowering of the implement is impossible! Particular care is to be taken when connecting or disconnecting implements to and from the tractor! There is a risk of shearing and pinching in the area around the three-point linkage! 3.2 Attachment to the tractor The swather is equipped with cat. I and II coupling lugs for the three-point linkage. No-one should be standing between the tractor and the machine during attachment. Implements that are attached on the front and rear must not result in the maximum weight, maximum axle loads or tyre carrying capacities of the tractor being exceeded. The front axle of the tractor must always be loaded with at least 20% of the empty weight of the tractor, even when the rear attachment is fitted. Make certain you have complied with these requirements before starting to move the tractor Attach and secure the lower link arms. Attach the top link and secure with pins. Raise the jack stand and secure it in the uppermost position with pin. Do not remove the jack stand. KS3007 III -
16 Operating preparations The lowering speed of the rear hydrau-lics should be set using the lowering throttle so that the rotary swather undercarriage is lowered to the ground slowly. Make sure that the tractor cab rear window is closed before raising the rear hydraulics. The rotary swather protective frame could otherwise damage the rear window. KS30002 III - 2
17 Operating preparations 3.3 PTO shaft 3.3. General Switch off the engine after coupling the rotary swather to the tractor linkage. Remove the ignition key. Secure the tractor from rolling away! KS3007 The PTO shaft is fitted with an overload coupling. Overload couplings protect the tractor and implement from damage. The overload coupling setting must not be altered. The guarantee will become void if the set torque changes due to the overload coupling being tampered with. The torque is limited once there is overloading and is transferred as a pulse during the slip time. To prevent the overload coupling from wearing out prematurely, the PTO shaft should be disengaged immediately once the overload coupling responds. Compare the relevant RM torque value with the value given in the following table. If these values do not tally, please consult your Krone dealer. 18 Operating preparations Adjusting the length of the PTO shaft Switch off the PTO shaft when carrying out service, maintenance, repair and assembly work on the rotary swather. Switch off the engine. Remove the ignition key. Secure the tractor from rolling away! No-one should be standing between the tractor and the rotary swather while the swather is being raised. Danger of material damage: Do not lift before the length of the PTO shaft has been adjusted! Pull the PTO shaft apart so it can be adjusted. Slide the two corresponding halves of the PTO shaft on to the machine () and on to the tractor (2). The overload coupling must be fitted on the implement side! Set the rotary swather using the rear hydraulics to the shortest position for the PTO shaft. Hold both halves next to each other and measure the correct length. See the PTO shaft manufacturer's operating instructions for the exact measuring and shortening procedure. 2 KS Fitting and maintaining the PTO shaft Secure the guard tube (3) against rotating using the retaining chains (4)! Check that the PTO shaft has enough swivel space and free movement space! Damage will be caused if the PTO shaft is touched by the tractor or implement. 19 Operating preparations 3.4 Detaching from the tractor The rotary swather should only be parked on level, solid ground! No-one should be standing between the tractor and the rotary swather during raising and lowering of the swather. Follow all other safety instructions. Chose a level, dry floor space with sufficient load bearing capacity. Lower the jack stand () and secure with pin. Lower the swather making completely sure that it is standing securely. Disconnect the PTO shaft (2) and put it onto the support provided. Disconnect the top link. Disconnect the lower link arm. 2 KS3002 III - 5

21 4 Adjusting the swather 4. General Before correcting any operational faults or carrying out any repair, maintenance or cleaning work, always disengage the driving system, stop the engine and remove the key from the ignition! The swather is designed for a max. PTO speed of 540 rpm. Recommended PTO speed during operation: U/min. The swather must never be driven with a 000 rpm PTO shaft. Adjusting the swather MAX. 540/min MAX. 200 bar 4.2 Basic setting Lower the swather slowly! Keep the operating lever for the lower link arm in the Lower position or move to the lowest position (floating position). The carrier bar guide roller must be at the end of the three point frame guide. Set the tractor top link so that the swather disc is horizontal or tilted slightly towards the front and the tines touch the ground lightly. KS Folding the tine arms into working position 2 Shut down the engine and remove the ignition key. Secure tractor and rotary swather against rolling away! Fold the tine arms from transport to working position. Remove linch pin (). Pull out pin (2). Fold tine arms (3) into working position. Insert pin (2) and secure with linch pin (). Pin (2) must always be inserted from the top with the respective tine arm in the front part of the rotor (tines must touch the ground). 2 SW70000 IV -
22 Adjusting the swather Swivel the right (2) and left (3) hoop guard into the working position. As the left hoop guard is swivelled down, the anti-rotation lock () swivels up. KS KS Setting the working height The exact height of the swather disc is set using the crank (). The working height depends on the travelling speed and the condition of the crop. If the setting is too high then the feed will not be lifted completely and if the setting is too low then there is the danger that the feed will be dirtied, the turf will be damaged and that wear on the twin-spring tines will be increased. 23 4.5 Lateral inclination setting of the rotor running gear To achieve optimal work results, the transverse inclination of the rotor can be changed on the left and right tandem axles. Adjusting the swather Do not step under the rotors when they are raised. 2 To ensure this, raise the rotor just far enough to be able to perform the adjustment tasks on it. Remove the left and right tandem axle and mount again in the desired position with adjustment axle. I II KS30003 If the forage is heavy, adjust the running gear on the swath cloth side as low as possible. 4.6 Swath former The distance between the swath former and the swather disc is infinitely adjustable for narrow or wide swaths to suit crop conditions. The distance between the swath former and the swather disc is set to suit the amount of crop. large crop = larger distance small crop = smaller distance To do this: Loosen the clamping lever (3) Move the swath former to the desired position Tighten the clamping lever (3) again. KS30004 The swath former can be adjusted lengthways in 8 positions. This adjustment is necessary if feed falls forward past the swath former, for example. To do this remove screws (5), put the swath former into the desired position and replace screws (5). IV - 3
24 Adjusting the swather 4.7 Travel speed and drive r.p.m. The travel speed and drive r.p.m. are determined by: the feed volume the ground conditions the dryness The following should be taken as starting points: PTO shaft speed approx. 450 r.p.m. Forward speed approx. 8-0 km/h Drive r.p.m. and forward speed should be adapted to the particular conditions each time. 25 Transport 5 Transport 5. Lighting Make sure that the prescribed lights are used and safety measures are followed for road transportation in daylight and at night. A lighting attachment set can be obtained from your KRONE dealer. The implement is already equipped with standard mountings. 5.2 Transport preparation KS30006 Insert the swath former completely. To do this: Loosen the clamping lever () Insert the swath former completely Tighten the clamping lever (). Turn the rotor until the anti-rotation lock (4) matches the marked rotor tine arm (A). (4 front tine arms and 3 rear tine arms) Release the locking (2) by pulling on the cable (3). Fold up the protective frame and allow it to lock in place. As the protective frame swivels up, the antirotation lock (4) automatically swivels down. 3 2 KS30005 A KS3003 V -
26 Transport 5.3 Folding the tine arms into transport position Shut down the engine and remove the ignition key. Secure tractor and rotary swather against rolling away! Fold the tine arms from working to transport position. First: Turn the rotor until the three foldable tine arms are located on the outside. Remove linch pin (). Pull out pin (2). Fold tine arms (3) into transport position. Insert pin (2) and secure with linch pin () SW70002 Make sure that the tractor cab rear window is closed before raising the rear hydraulics. The rotary swath protective frame could otherwise damage the rear window. KS3006 V - 2
27 6 Service and maintenance Service and maintenance 6. Special safety instruction Before correcting any operational faults or carrying out any repair, maintenance or cleaning work, always disengage the driving system, stop the engine and remove the key from the ignition! Avoid oil and grease coming into contact with the skin. Contact a doctor immediately for injuries caused by escaping oil. Follow all other safety notes to avoid injuries and accidents. 6.2 General Certain maintenance and service intervals should be observed to guarantee correct operation of the rotary swather and to reduce wear and tear. These include, amongst other things, cleaning, greasing, lubricating and oiling parts and components. 28 Service and maintenance The tine screws () must be retightened to the specified tightening torque after they have been used for the first time. Repair work on the tyres and wheels may only be carried out by specialists using appropriate tools! Set down rotary swather on firm, even ground. Prevent unintended rolling away with wedges. Regularly check that wheel nuts are properly seated and tighten if necessary! Regularly check air pressure! Check the tyre pressure at regular intervals and top up air if necessary. The values can be taken from the adjacent table. 29 7 Lubrication Lubrication Before correcting any operational faults or carrying out any repair, maintenance or cleaning work, always disengage the driving system, stop the engine and remove the key from the ignition! All lubrication points are shown on this page. You can ensure a long service life of the implement by observing the maintenance and lubrication intervals specified here. It is preferable to use plant-based oils and greases. 7. Universal drive shaft Lubricate universal drive shafts with a multi-purpose grease at the intervals taken from the figure. 31 Winter storage 8 Winter storage Clean the rotary swather thoroughly before storing over the winter. If a high-pressure cleaner is used, do not direct the water jet at the bearings. Grease all lubricating nipples after cleaning. Check all moving parts for freedom of movement. If necessary, disassemble, clean and grease before reassembling. Replace with new parts if necessary. Oil all hinge points. Only use original KRONE spare parts. Lubricate the machine thoroughly. Grease the PTO shaft guard tubes to keep them from freezing. Store the rotary swather in a dry place, but not near artificial fertiliser. Touch up damaged paintwork and treat bare metal thoroughly with rust protection agent. Grease the connection of the attachment tubes to the swath disc and to the tine bars. Jack the machine up to relieve the load on the tyres. Do not deflate the tyres. Protect tyres from sun, grease and oils.. Make a list of all spare parts needed and order them in good time. It is easier for your KRONE dealer to order and install spare parts during the off-season. In addition, your machine will be completely ready for operation at the start of the next season. VIII-

Installing the supporting wheel: Install the flange plate () on the cross bar (2) and on the mounting link (3) of the three-point block. Install the supporting wheel support (4) on the flange plate (). Insert the supporting wheel (5) in the supporting wheel support (4) and secure it in place with the bolt (6) and spring cotter pin (7). Install the upper link with bolt (8) in the oblong hole of the upper link plates and secure with linch pin (9) Height adjustment: The working depth can be adjusted by changing the level at which the supporting wheel (5) is mounted in the supporting wheel support (4). 9 8 Use a rigid top link arm for road transport! KS Tine loss protection The basic rule for servicing, maintenance, repair and assembly work on the rotary swather - switch off the PTO shaft. Switch off the engine and remove the ignition key. Secure the tractor and rotary swather from rolling away! Fitting the tine loss protection The tine loss protection for the twin-spring tine consists of: a cord two cord clamps with two each of saucer-head screws, washers and locknuts Secure the cord () to the swath disc tines (3) with the cord clamps (2). 4 The cord should be situated behind the swather disc tines in relation to the direction of rotation. The nuts (4) on the cord clamps should be pointing outwards. 2 3 KS-0-05 X -
