Kick start the engine or press the electric starter button (for not more than 5 seconds while applying the rear brake. DO NOT USE THE ELECTRIC STARTER ON FIRST USE AFTER LONG PERIODS OF INACTIVITY. DRIVING TIPS Before starting your motorcycle, squeeze the rear brake with the left hand and grasp the handle with the right hand and then push the vehicle forward so as to turn main support back up. Do not grasp the seat to turn the main stand up / down. Climb astride the vehicle. Hold the handle bar with both hands and stride the vehicle from the left side. Keeping your left foot on the ground for support, climb over the vehicle with your right leg until you are seated firmly If driving with passenger, flip open the rear foot pegs; otherwise, keep them closed. CAUTION: In order to prevent the vehicle from rushing out please squeeze the rear brake lever until the engine is running and then release it slowly. When pulling out of park, loosen the rear brake, rotate the steering handle slowly and the vehicle will begin to move. NOTICE: It is recommended to warm-up the engine by driving slowly during the first few minutes or miles of the trip.
SPEED ADJUSTMENT Use the throttle grip on the steering handle to adjust speed Towards the driver to increase speed. Release to reduce speed. BRAKE SYSTEM To brake, first slow the vehicle by turning the throttle grip away from you. Next, grasp the front and rear brake bars simultaneously and squeeze them until the brakes apply. PARKING Do not lean your motorcycle against walls. Stand your motorcycle on a flat, even surface. Do not leave your motorcycle unattended, especially if the engine is running or the key inserted. Do not sit on your vehicle while it is resting on the main stand. Avoid touching any parts that may be hot such as the engine, chassis, wheels or brakes. Remember to apply the brakes gradually and steadily. If you need to stop while going uphill, always use both brakes. Don t try to maintain position with the throttle alone, as this will damage the engine. WARNING: Always brake early on damp, snowy or frozen ground, since the brakes will need more time to take effect than on a normal road surface. Don t brake repeatedly during long downhill rides since this can damage the vehicle. Check brake oil level regularly.
STORAGE CAUTION: SHIELD THE ENGINE AND MUFFLER WITH A DUST COVER AFTER THE SURFACE HAS COOLED DOWN. NOTICE: Please pay utmost attention to the following for long periods of storage. It is of great importance to wax all parts to prevent rust. To preserve the battery and reduce leakage, please take the battery out and put it in a ventilated place away from exposure to light. If you don t plan to remove it for storage, please disconnect the negative electrode. Drain off all the fuel in the carburetor to prevent rusting. AFTER INACTIVITY Rinse your motorcycle Check battery charge and recharge if needed Check oil and fuel levels Do a thorough check of all parts and processes before using ON FIRST USE Proper running of the engine to ensure a long life for your vehicle requires that you take the following precautions: For the first 100 Miles (160 KM), drive slowly and use the brakes gently. Avoid sudden or prolonged use of the brakes. This will ensure optimum performance and extend the life of the vehicle. After the first 500 Miles ( KM) do not drive your motorcycle at speeds greater than 80% of the maximum speed. Gradually start driving your motorcycle at higher speeds (subject to the local speed limits) until complete break-in or maximum performance has been reached.
REGULAR CHECK-UPS CHECKING YOUR MOTORCYCLE Regular checks are necessary in order to maintain your vehicle in optimum condition and to help prevent accidents Always remember to check your vehicle carefully before daily use. An overall check every six months ensures optimum performance. WARNING: Breakdowns or accidents may happen if these checks are neglected. Regular checks are required even if the vehicle has been lying idle. In fact, it is of particular importance to check your vehicle thoroughly after long periods of disuse. Check more frequently if vehicle is being used under extreme weather, rainy or dusty conditions. DAILY CHECK Brake System Check for smooth functioning and sensitivity of response. Make sure that brake fluid level is proper Tires Check for cracks or other damage. Ensure no abnormal abrasion. Check for depth of tire thread. Engine Adequate engine oil. See Engine Oil for details. Check for unusual noises or rattles. Check for appropriate acceleration/deceleration response. We recommend that difficult checks be done at your local (or the nearest) service center.
BRAKE SYSTEM Look at the fluid level indicator. Squeeze the brake lever tightly to check if the displacement of the fluid indicator line falls below the indicated brake fluid limit, if it falls below minimum, replenish brake fluid. Through the rear of the brake fixture. If the disc appears abraded, indicates that it needs to be replaced. Check the travel distance of the grip again after adjustment. If brake system oil level is below minimum, replenish with brake fluids DOT3 or DOT4 only. Do not use inferior quality or recycled brake fluid. Squeeze rear brake handle until resistance increases and measure if the further stroke is in this range. Adjust the gap by turning the regulating nut. Turn clockwise increase the travel distance, Counter-clockwise to decrease. CAUTION: When replenishing, prevent the brake fluid from getting in contact with the paintwork to avoid fading or chapping of body panels. ENGINE OIL Checking Oil Level 1. Keep the motorcycle on its main support on level ground. 2. Remove oil level gauge. Oil should be between maximum and minimum levels. 3. Add oil if required. USE SG IN API CLASSIFICATION OR SAE 10W-40 Engine Oil Replacement 1. Remove drain screw of oil cap 2. Drain engine oil (It is easier to drain the engine oil when the engine is warm) 3. Pour proper quantity of oil slowly into the gear box using a plastic cone or a funnel. 4. Tighten back drain screw. 5. Tighten the oil plug after completion. CHECK OIL LEVEL PERIODICALLY. Be sure to keep the surface of the adjusting nut in perfect contact with the pillar surface of the pin.
AIR FILTER The air filter should be cleaned after approximately every 1000 Miles (1600 KM), depending on usage and conditions. If the vehicle is being used often in rainy or dusty conditions, the air filter should be cleaned more frequently. Cleaning 1. Set the motorcycle on its main support. 2. Loosen the five screws that fasten the air filter cover in place to remove the cover. 3. Remove the filter and cover the intake manifold to avoid foreign objects entering the engine. 4. Clean the filter with solvent and let it dry 5. Submerge wick into clean filter oil. 6. Reinstall air filter. 7. Put cover back on. Tighten. Remember to replace the air filter if it is worn out, dirty or clogged up. Improper fixing of the air filter may cause dust to enter the engine and affect performance or damage the piston chamber. BATTERY Check the electrolyte of the battery every 1000 Miles (1600 KM). Battery check 1. Make sure the key ignition switch on OFF 2. Open the battery cover using a Phillips head screwdriver. 3. Replenish the battery electrolyte except for the contents of the sealed container which needs no inspection. FUSES AND WIRING If any electrical component is not working or is working improperly or the engine does not start, check your motorcycle fuses and wiring. Fuse Checking To check, remove fuse from casing; replace if damaged. You can determine whether a fuse is damaged by looking through at the center of the fuse and examine if the connector is burnt or cut. Should the latter be the case, replace the fuse. All electrical components should be replaced only with original Vento parts. Do not use non-standard fuses or with improper capacity. See the Technical Data.
WASHING YOUR MOTORCYCLE DO NOT USE SOLVENTS OR STRONG DETERGENTS; THEY CAN DAMAGE THE FINISH OF YOUR MOTORCYCLE. 1. Mop the dirt with a soft cloth while rinsing with warm water. 2. Use a neutral detergent and wash the motorcycle with water to get rid of stubborn dirt or grime. 3. Dry any residual water with a clean and soft cloth. We recommend that our users apply mixed wax. It is important to be careful with the paintwork and plastic parts gently to prevent scratches and chipping. CAUTION: Clean the motorcycle only after the engine has cooled Keep water out of the muffler, air cleaner and electrical appliances to prevent rusting and short-circuiting Please ride slowly and carefully after washing your motorcycle since brake performance may be affected by residual water It is recommended that the motorcycle is dry before riding it.
