Refer to the Service Manual for the torque values of the removed parts. Item N m kgf m Ibf ft 6 mm socket bolt mm flange nut mm socket bolt INSTALLATION INFORMATION CAUTION To prevent burns, allow the engine, exhaust system, radiator, etc. to cool before installing the accessory. NOTE: The Pannier stay which is sold separately is required to install this accessory. The Pannier stay is not required for the motorcycle equipped with the Pannier stay. Take care not to damage the painted surfaces of the motorcycle. When the motorcycle is already equipped with the Rear carrier, remove the Rear carrier and Pannier stay before installing this accessory. 2 of 11

Refer to the Service Manual for the motorcycle, INSTALLATION <NC700X/XA/XD/S/SA/SD> Illustration shows NC700XA type, other types are similar. 1. Refer to the Service Manual for the motorcycle, SPRING SINGLE SEAT PILLION SEAT HINGE PILLION SEAT DRIVE CHAIN CASE 3. Refer to the Service Manual for the motorcycle, SOCKET CAP (Save) SOCKET FLANGE COLLAR LEFT REAR GRIP (Save) NUT FLANGE COLLAR RIGHT REAR GRIP 3 of 11

4 4. Work upon the rear fender B as shown. Be careful not to damage harnesses. Remove any burrs from the edge of the hole. 6. Remove the bolts and nuts as shown. NUT (Save) STAY Remove. SLIT FILE File off the cutout surface. (Save) 7. Install the right pannier hook as shown. 6 mm FLANGE NUT REAR FENDER B 5. Remove the pillion seat hinge as shown. (small) STAY PILLION SEAT HINGE (thick) (thin/large) HOOK COVER HOOK RIGHT REAR GRIP (Save) 8. Install the pillion seat hinge as shown. PILLION SEAT HINGE 4 of 11 STAY

5 9. Loosely install the pannier stays as shown. LEFT PANNIER STAY SOCKET 11. Install the stopper rubber as shown. Make two sets. 48 mm SOCKET FLANGE COLLAR STOPPER RUBBER STAY 10. Loosely install the right pannier support stay as shown. SUPPORT STAY STOPPER RUBBER <Right side> (large) 8 mm COLLAR (long) 8 mm COLLAR (short) RIGHT PILLION STEP HOLDER 12. Install the pannier bracket as shown. (middle) (small) 6 mm SOCKET (thin/small) (long) SUPPORT STAY (short) (middle) (large) 8 mm COLLAR (short) (large) 5 of 11

6 13. Install the right pannier and tighten all loosely installed hardware to the specifications in the torque chart. INSTALLATION <NC700D> 1. Open the seat, remove the rear seat as shown. REAR SEAT When securing the pannier support stay, first tighten the upper bolts. FLANGE COLLAR UPPER SOCKET TORQUE: 30 N m (3.1 kgf m, 22 lbf ft) 2. Refer to the Service Manual for the motorcycle, CAP SOCKET LEFT REAR GRIP (Save) (Save) RIGHT REAR GRIP (Save) FLANGE COLLAR 14. Install the plugs as shown. PLUG 15. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal. 6 of 11

SUPPORT STAY RIGHT PILLION STEP HOLDER CONNECTOR Release. 8 mm COLLAR (short) REAR FENDER B <Right side> (large) 8 mm COLLAR (long) 8. Refer to the Service Manual for the motorcycle, (long) 8 mm COLLAR (short) (middle) (short) (large) SUPPORT STAY (large) 10. Remove the bolts and nuts as shown. NUT (Save) STAY DRIVE CHAIN CASE (Save) 8 of 11

9 11. Install the right pannier hook as shown. 13. Install the stopper rubber as shown. Make two sets. 6 mm FLANGE NUT 48 mm STOPPER RUBBER (small) STAY (thick) (thin/large) HOOK COVER HOOK 12. Loosely install the pannier stays as shown. SOCKET STOPPER RUBBER LEFT PANNIER STAY SOCKET 14. Install the pannier bracket as shown. (small) (middle) 6 mm SOCKET (thin/small) FLANGE COLLAR STAY 9 of 11

10 15. Install the right pannier and tighten all loosely installed hardware to the specifications in the torque chart. When securing the pannier support stay, first tighten the upper bolts. 17. Work upon the rear fender B as shown. Remove any burrs. 14 mm FRETSAW Remove. 14 mm REAR FENDER B UPPER SOCKET TORQUE: 30 N m (3.1 kgf m, 22 lbf ft) FILE File off the cutout surfaces after removing the area. Repeat on the right side. FRETSAW Remove. 14 mm 16. Temporarily remove the panniers and pannier stays. 5.5 mm 18. Install the rear fender B and A in the reverse order of removal. 10 of 11

11 19. Work upon the right side cover along the factory marked line as shown. Remove any burrs. 21. Loosely install the right pannier stay and right pannier, then tighten all loosely installed hardware to the specifications in the torque chart. RIGHT SIDE COVER FRETSAW Remove. SOCKET TORQUE: 30 N m (3.1 kgf m, 22 lbf ft) RIGHT PANNIER STAY FACTORY MARKED LINE RIGHT SIDE COVER SOCKET TORQUE: 30 N m (3.1 kgf m, 22 lbf ft) 22. Install the plugs as shown. PLUG FILE File off the cutout surfaces after removing the area. 20. Install the side covers and rear cowl in the reverse order of removal. 23. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal. 11 of 11
