1 Lawrence Municipal Court Fine and Bond Schedule Pursuant to K.S.A , the attached fines schedule has been established. Fines listed are within the minimum and maximum allowable fines established by ordinance for such offenses by the governing body. Bond amounts listed are for release from jail after an initial arrest on a misdemeanor charge. Defective Equipment Violations: If repairs are made and approved by an officer from the Police Department within 72 hours of the violation date, provide proof of repair to the Court Clerk s office and the charge will be dismissed. Expired Tag Parking Violations: If tags were renewed prior to the date of the violation, provide proof to the Court Clerk s office and the charge will be dismissed. No Insurance Violations: If insurance was valid on the date of the violation, provide proof of current insurance to the Court Clerk s office prior to your court date. The insurance proof will be submitted to the State Department of Motor Vehicles and placed on a 60-day stay. If insurance is not returned to the Court as invalid, the charge will be dismissed. Fines assessed on amended charges are at the discretion of the City Prosecutor. Requests for amendments to traffic violations should be directed to the City Prosecutor s office at Failure to appear in court may result in the suspension of your driver s license, a bench warrant, or both. If your driver s license is suspended, a $75.00 reinstatement fee per charge will be assessed. If a bench warrant is issued, a $50.00 warrant fee will be assessed.
