SCHEDULE Friday September 19 th : 6:30am Gates Open 3:00pm to 6:00pm Tech & Safety Inspection, Gear Check and Registration. THERE WILL BE NO RACING FOR ANY TEAM UNTIL THE CAR HAS PASSED TECH AND SAFETYAND THE TEAM CAPTAIN HAS BEEN THROUGH REGISTRATION! 5:00pm NOVICE SCHOOL All racers new to chump are REQUIRED to attend!! 3 MORE IMPORTANT DETAILS Calbogie Motorsports Park Supplemental Rules: A 92dB noise restriction will be strongly enforced during the race Lights WILL be required for this race! Please ensure that you have at least two working headlights, two brake lights and two tail lights. Number panel lights will also be required. See below for the rules regarding lights. Paddock Area. Paddock spots will not be assigned (nor available for reservation) but rather available on a first-come, first-served basis. Paddock Speed Limit. Paddock Speed Limit is 10 mph; watch out for fellow teams, staff and volunteers. Pit Lane Speed Limit. The pit lane speed limit is 25 mph (that s about 1, RPM in second gear for most cars.) The speed limit shall be in effect for the entire length of the outer pit wall. No one under the age of 16 is allowed near the hot or cold pit area. Pit Stalls: Will be available for requests/reservations. Please wendye@chumpcar.com for any requests. Paddock Supplemental Rules: SRPP1 Fueling of all race cars shall be completed by use of 5-gallon plastic jugs and funnels, hoses or other fueling adapters as specified in the Rules. Jugs must have sealable lids/caps. Metal fuel drums or other fuel containers (no overhead fuel rigs) and caddies with manual pumps (no electric pumps) and hose lines are allowed to re-fill plastic jugs but are not allowed for re-fueling race cars. All fuel storage must be maintained on the "cold" side of the pit wall or kept within your transporter. SRPP2 All teams shall have one (1) fully-charged 10LB ABC fire extinguisher in their pit area. All teams shall have one (1) 10LB bag of kitty litter or other reasonable absorbitant for oil leaks and/or fuel spillage in their pit area, as well as a fueling catch pan. Having a broom handy is also advisable. SRPP3 Drivers may remain in the car during fueling and driver changes may also be completed, but all safety equipment, including gloves, must remain on, especially helmet visors must remain down. All engines and electrical kill switches must be off during fueling. NO WORK ON ANY CAR SHALL BE COMPLETED DURING REFUELING. (Note: Replenishing of cool-suit or drinking liquids is considered additional work and is not allowed. Cleaning of windshields has been disallowed from approved operations.) SRPP4 Those involved in fueling race cars must wear a Nomex driver s suit, gloves and full-face helmet WITH VISOR DOWN. No crew members, tools or staged fuel jugs are allowed over the wall until the team car has come to a complete stop in the pit box. Only one fuel jug over the wall at a time!
4 Any team member over the wall (including fire bottle attendant) while fuel is being added to a race car must wear fireproof safety equipment. This includes fire suit, gloves and helmet with visor down. Balaclava and goggles are no longer accepted per the 2014 rules. Non-driver, crew members may utilize a single-layer suit without underwear, but gloves and full face helmet with closed visor are required. Other than non-open toed shoes, shoes and socks are open for non-driving crew members performing (re)fueling but fireproof socks and leather shoes are HIGHLY advisable. SRPP5 All cars, used or junk parts too big for a normal trash can, empty fuel drums and anything else you brought with you must be taken out with you. If you leave it behind, we ll track you down and it won t be pretty. LIGHTING RULES: 9.7. Headlights, Taillights and Brake Lights: For Night-time Events: All cars must be equipped with suitable headlights. Headlights may be OEM or aftermarket. Cars having more than four (4) light sources mounted on the car, whether working or wired for use, will be required to COMPLETELY REMOVE all lights above the count of four (4) CONVENTIONAL BULBS No single light bulb or light source shall exceed 60W for H3 or H4 bulbs, or 35W for H.I.D. bulbs Bulbs must match the housing and lens that they were originally designed for. Copyright No vehicle may have mounted less than two (2) or more than four (4) headlights. A headlight is defined by the number of illuminating bulbs or sources not by the housing. Cars with two (2) headlights within a single housing are hereby advised LED FIXTURES Cars equipped with LED head- or driving-lights shall be restricted to a maximum of 4,000 Lumens per fixture and the total of all fixtures shall not produce more than 8,000 Lumens Combined Lighting Sources: cars using a combination of BOTH H3/H4/HID and LED lights shall be limited to a maximum of 4,000 Lumens of LED lighting and no more than two (2) lighting sources using conventional H3, H4 or HID lights All headlights must be installed such that the base of the driving light lens is NO HIGHER than six inches (6 ) above the highest point of the stock front fender; and, NO FURTHER BACK than the centerline of the front axle. (This is NOT an either/or situation there s an AND in the sentence.) Headlights must be aimed properly, such that all light is directed at track level. Cars with improperly aimed or blinding lights will be black-flagged and penalized For night events, all cars must have AT LEAST TWO operating headlights at all times. Cars not meeting this requirement shall be black-flagged and brought-in to add or repair lights to meet this requirement. The placement and aiming of all lights -- be they H1/H3, HID or LED -- is critically important and must abide by all ChumpCar rules. Blinding lights will not be tolerated. Overall, lighting brightness and the focal aiming of all lighting will become a "judgment call" on the part of race officials and corner workers Taillights: All cars must have a minimum of two (2) operational taillights that remain on at all times whenever headlights are on. Taillights may be OEM or aftermarket. No car shall have more than four (4) taillights. Taillight illumination shall be as bright or brighter than a 1034 or 1157 bulb but shall not be so bright as to overpower/out-light operating brake lights. Multi-filament and combination brake/taillight assemblies are allowed Brake Lights: At all times and in any format of ChumpCar event, each car must have at least two (2) working brake lights that are easily seen from the rear. No car shall have more than four (4) total brake lights Any and all brake lights must be comparable to DOT/OEM brake light luminosity, utilizing a bulb or LED comparable to or brighter than a 1057 or 1157 brake light bulb.
5 The placement of at least one (1) brake light where a mild rear-end impact won't break or obscure the light is HIGHLY advisable Headlight and taillight assemblies (and all associated hardware) are considered safety items and do not count toward your car s TCV All glass and/or plastic taillight and brake light lenses that may be damaged from vehicle contact are to be taped-over with clear packaging or other strong clear tape. Do not use Scotch tape Accessory (Theme) Lights: Accessory lights are NOT ADVISED on or inside any wheel assembly (as the lights are often mistaken for sparks). If you get black-flagged for possible sparks, too bad Accessory lights inside the cockpit and driver compartment should be kept to a minimum. If the lighting is determined to be a nuisance to other drivers or race officials, ChumpCar shall have the right to order the lights removed or turned off. (Yes, we have wire cutters in the trailer ) No accessory lights are to look like or be mistaken for an emergency vehicle. Race Day Spectators/Dogs: Guests are welcome to attend Saturdays race. Spectator wristbands will be available at the front gate for $20. This provides access to the paddock and track viewing areas. Children 16 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. All teams, drivers, crew, family & friends are required to have a wristband. And all dogs must be on leash at all times. Alcohol/Smoking: And as with all ChumpCar races, absolutely no alcohol during the race including your guests and spectators (it s grounds for immediate removal of your car and team from the race and property period). And glass is never allowed on property. NO SMOKING IN PIT LANE/PADDOCK AREA. BBQs: The track does allow the use of small BBQs, charcoal or gas. Just remember BBQs must be supervised at all times, a fire extinguisher must be within 15 of the open flame, and that all open flames are (at a minimum) 30 from all race cars, fuel storage or other flammable sources. Pit Vehicles: Pit vehicles are allowed in the paddock (but not anywhere else on track or off pavement), and must obey the 10 mph paddock speed limit. In particular, motorcycles, ATVs and four-wheel drive trucks may not be driven in the adjacent hills for any reason. No one under 16 allowed on any ATV, golf cart, motorized bike, or scooter. Any pit vehicle violations will result in penalty laps to the associated team. Track Walk: People may walk or ride a bicycle on the track after hours with permission from the Calabogie management. Trophies & Purse: Saturday*: $800-1 st place; $600-2 nd place; $300-3 rd place; $200 4 th place *If less than 35 entries, 75% of purse rounded to the nearest $100 will be awarded, issued in redeemable ChumpChange (see Rules Section 1.5 Winners & Awards). And some really nice trophies and of course bragging rights! The Top 10 finishers will qualify for an invitation to the 2014 Chumpionship to be held at Watkins Glen!!
6 Camping/RVs: Camping is allowed overnight in the paddock. No excessive noise; quiet time is from 10:00pm 7:00am. Teams will leave need to be off property Sunday morning by 10am. Garages: There are no garages at this track available to rent. Hotels: Jocko s Resort, Cabins and Motel 5253 Calabogie Rd, Calabogie, ON K0J 1H0 (613) Weather: We re racing, regardless of the weather. The Supplemental Rules May Be Updated Without Notice. Teams Are Advised To Check Them With Regularity And Print A Copy For Reference Prior To Coming To The Event.
