In 2017 the Piaggio Group sold a total of 552,800 vehicles worldwide. 16 PRODUCT DETAILS - SAFETY The new MP3 is the first 3 wheels offered with ABS braking system and ASR (traction control). The front wheels grow from 12 to 13 inches and are equipped with larger disc brakes than the previous MP3. 16.

17 PRODUCT DETAILS SAFETY ABS After the revolution of the first 3 wheels scooter, today Piaggio presents the first MP3 with ABS / ASR combined system. The ABS, the most sophisticated system in the scooter market, has been developed with Continental. It s a 3 channels system able to manage every single wheel individually, modulating the braking force preventing tyre skidding. 17.

18 PRODUCT DETAILS SAFETY ASR The ASR uses the sensors of the ABS system and intervenes when it detects an excessive rear wheel speed to prevent wheel spin, especially on slippery surfaces or on conditions that can cause sudden slippage of the rear wheel. The system applies a torque to the rear wheel lower than the torque requested by the rider to restore safe conditions. ASR may be disabled from a button on the handlebars. 18.

19 PRODUCT DETAILS ENGINE The new engine is a liquid-cooled, 4-valves, electronic injection, adopting the engine control system ride-by-wire that gives the driver the opportunity to choose between two types of maps: a more fuel efficient or more powerful.
