Our optimization is the result of careful development work within five key areas. Together they form a balanced, well-proven and thoroughly-tested package of driving pleasure. Faster throttle response Throttle response has been calibrated to respond more quickly to driver commands - something that creates higher precision and better feel. Faster gear changes The automatic gearbox changes gears more quickly to both improve acceleration and to better respond to the driver's commands, (e.g. downshifts) before overtaking. Better gear precision and gear hold The gears have also been calibrated to exploit the engine's improved midrange performance. The gearbox also avoids changes when cornering at high g-forces (where possible) for better stability. Faster gear and engine response The engine and gearbox have been calibrated to respond more quickly when the driver releases the accelerator. This makes the car more balanced and predictable when cornering, for example. Increased engine performance We have concentrated the power where it is needed most - in the midrange; perfect for overtaking/passing or when on a busy highway. 30 Tow bar, hitch For V90 Cross Country A towing bracket especially introduced for the North American market. With the electrically folding tow bar, you do not have to stretch beneath the car to detach or remove the tow bar. Pressing a button in the luggage compartment folds the tow bar out. A simple hand movement positions the tow bar in a locked position. For increased safety, there is a light indicator on the button that indicates that the tow bar is locked. If the tow bar is unlocked, a warning message is shown in the car's combined instrument panel. The trailer module manages the electronic communication between the vehicle and trailer. With the help of the light control function in the car's display, the lamps on the trailer illuminate in a sequence which makes it easier to check the lighting. If, when driving, there is a problem with the trailer's direction indicators or brake lights, the trailer module immediately sends the driver information. The tow bar is equipped with Volvo's Trailer Stability Assist-technology (TSA) and interacts with your Volvo's DSTC-system1. If the trailer starts to sway back and forth at speeds in excess of 30 mph, TSA can brake one or more wheels to regain stability and maintain control. 40 Lockable bolt Lockable wheel bolt kit Lockable wheel bolts specially developed for Volvo Cars, which gives improved safety. The lock pattern is located against the middle on the lockable bolts and is therefore difficult to reach with a screwdriver, for example. The top of the lockable bolt rotates and is therefore very difficult to loosen without the right wrench. A solid connection between wrench and bolt facilitates installation and removal, and in principle eliminates the risk of crooked tighten, which results in a damaged wrench.
