6 The highly sought after red dot design award is an internationally recognised award for excellence in design. It dates back to 1955 and is now one of the world's largest and most distinguished design competitions. In 2012, more than 14,000 participants from over 70 nations submitted their designs. The winners were selected by a 30 member expert jury, who considered product design, communication design and design concepts. After an evaluation process lasting several days, ELR was honoured with one of the coveted awards for its ATePS LED module series: ELR35, ELR50 and ELR100. ATePS is a series of high-performance, versatile and adaptable LED light engine platforms. They consist of anodised 95% pure aluminium and are characterised by their excellent heat management and their simple, elegant look. Lightweight, 0.4 mm aluminium sheets are attached in a clip-on manufacturing process to as large as possible, with maximum air turbulence and optimal light output. The judges said ATePS LED modules stood out because of ELR's smart use of materials. Unlike other brands, ELR uses about 50% less material in its heat sink assembly, yet achieves higher heat dissipation. ATePS is an intelligent combination of superior materials, electronics proprietary smart electronics and feedback system that control the optimum performance of ELR's advanced aluminium heat sink for the best possible heat conductivity, even in challenging environments.
