Instruction includes automotive engines, automatic and manual transmissions, and drive lines, suspension systems, braking systems (including ABS), and engine performance. Upon successful completion of the program a student receives credit for one year of work experience when applying for certification by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

The curriculum focuses on training and retraining of entry-level and currently employed practitioners.
